I'm also getting that "story-ripped-from-the-comic-book-pages" vibe as well, the same as X2 gave me. I'm really looking forward to this, looks like they went back to the X-Men film roots for this that was washed away beginning with X3.

@gumperman Ya I figured it out eventually. The same music was used for the Superman comic con trailer and 12 years a slave used it too.

@ObiWanShinobi The first part of the trailer does use the music from Sunshine (thank you @john-m@skywise , I didn't know what the music was until reading your comments), but the second part is not 'Time' from Inception but actually Zimmer's 'Journey to the Line' from The Thin Red Line found here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TG9-j3eevL4 You'll hear it around 4:25 in the track. Cheers!

Leave it to a CBM to divide the masses. This looks to be the best in the series IMO. First Class was amazing and I am glad to see a mixture of both. Wolverine being the focus bothers people but it doesnt seem to be just about him. I look forward to seeing Fassebender and McAvoy back in their roles

its a misleading trailer forgot to capture the genre it belongs to,,.. let the movie be emotionally well drafted and crap, an action movie should have some jaw dropping scenes showed in the trailer. This is more like a drama trailer - bullsh*t dogsh*t goatsh*t and donkeysh*t trailer ever.. come up with a trailer which honors its genre of action!

By the end of the film, I hope it changes the continuity completely. Revive Cyclops, Jean, everyone. New stories, tweaked personalities, the whole 9 yards. A 2-part Apocalypse story is what I'm looking forward to.

@mieko-siede My friend. You hit the nail on the head with a surge of mutant power bliss. As for the whole inconsistencies, I think Singer mentioned at one point that DOFP will rewrite the past timeline, including Last Stand into a new continuity. You know, the way comic book arcs tend to keep everyone dead alive and stuff.

To be honest, I am actually getting that story-straight-out-of-the-comic-book vibe, which i don't really get from other Marvel movies. Hopefully it does good as First Class.

Beyond all of what I'd just said, thematically this does look a bit intriguing. First Class was actually my favorite of the series. If I took it one movie at a time then this one could be just as enjoyable from what I see.

I have never been a fan of the X-Men movies. They are the most contradictory and inconsistent of franchises of late. The first failed to truly capture the essence of the characters in depth. Many of the characters that pass through the installments feel thrown in or like disposable characters that unless you truly follow the comics you have no clue who that guy or that chick is that just did something interesting or even fairly cool. The effects and makeup have been cheesy. From "Last Stand" to "First Class" there had been so many contradictions to the flow and assembly of the characters. In the third movie, Xavier and Eric found and recruited Jean together. Charles was still walking and though he was supposed to be younger, still portrayed by a still older looking Patrick Stewart. Yet in First Class he lost his legs on the beach while he and Eric were still establishing a kinship in their friendship. Eric walked away from him that day long before they grew together and were able to meet Jean Grey as a child. Yes, Last Stand still counts in the series. And yes, First Class as a prequel was meant to lead to this Days of Future Past film. As for the fact that we even have an older Charles Xavier using Logan as a messenger to go back to the past and change his mind, that wouldn't even be plausible for the fact that he was obliterated by Jean in the third film and transferred his consciousness into a brain dead patient he'd been eyeing during a lecture he conducted during his class. Granted, some of the characters, especially Wolverine, have deepened and become more compelling as they went on. Still there have been so many missteps and poor execution along the way. Almost as though they were experimental. The quality of production and the lack of depth toward something that should be just as eye popping as it is intriguing has been disappointing. Certain characters they decided to use had strayed so far from their original concepts that had become popular to their lore. Weak and sometimes absurd plots...poorly executed themes that plague our own real world issues though in the guise of mutant/human race relations absent skin complexion...so many dynamics these films could have explored with success...it has left a bad taste in my mouth for the franchise. Still, it gets a pass by most fans that would have burned their Avenger comics if the movie would have bombed or deviated from the themes most coveted by them. This series just hasn't been for me though at times admittedly entertaining at points. And I am only speaking from my point of view...my opinion. I just can't get worked up for this.
