Will ‘Star Wars: Episode VII’ Start Shooting in January 2014?

Production has already been confirmed to take place at Pinewood Studios in London under the direction of J.J. Abrams for a 2015 release date.

Star Wars: Episode VII to start shooting next January
One of the few things we know for sure about Star Wars: Episode VII is that production is taking place at Pinewood Studios in London next year, with J.J. Abrams directing from a screenplay by Michael Arndt. Today we have an unconfirmed report that shooting is scheduled to begin on Tuesday, January 21, 2014, one day after the Martin Luther King Day holiday.

We reported last week that Disney is eyeing a December 2015 release for this highly-anticipated sequel, as opposed to a May 2015 date that most assumed would happen, since every other Star Wars movie has been released during that early summer month. Insiders claim that Disney is currently far behind on development, which is why a December 2015 release date is being considered. However, if production is scheduled to begin next January, one would think that should be ample time to get the movie ready by May 2015.

The development issues would explain why Disney has not confirmed any casting for Star Wars: Episode VII, which was expected to happen this summer at the studio's D23 Convention in Anaheim.

Of course, nothing has been confirmed by LucasFilm, and if there truly are development issues, it isn't known when we will know any concrete information regarding Star Wars: Episode VII.

Star Wars: The Force Awakens comes to theaters December 18th, 2015 and stars John Boyega, Daisy Ridley, Carrie Fisher, Harrison Ford, Mark Hamill, Adam Driver, Oscar Isaac, Domhnall Gleeson. The film is directed by J.J. Abrams.

That's interesting. I wasn't expecting to find out that Star Wars episode 7, would start filming in the same month that Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales starts filming :) .
