We haven't heard much regarding Bond 24 since Skyfall director Sam Mendes was confirmed to return back in July. Today we have word that the filmmakers are currently seeking the next "Bond girl," with British actress Helen Flanagan (Coronation Street) and Sports Illustrated swimsuit model Kate Upton currently in contention for the role.

Helen Flanagan has reportedly already met with casting directors in Los Angeles about joining the project. Here's what an unidentified source had to say about her meeting.

"They felt she had a unique look, great figure and natural charm on screen."

It isn't known if Kate Upton has met with casting directors or producers yet. Daniel Craig is returning as 007, with Skyfall stars Ralph Fiennes (M), Naomie Harris (Eve Moneypenny) and Ben Whishaw (Q) reprising their roles.

Sam Mendes is directing from a screenplay by John Logan, although it isn't known when production may begin. There is also a rumor that the sequel may be called Devil May Care, after Sebastian Faulks' 2008 novel that commemorated the 100th anniversary of James Bond creator Ian Fleming's birth.

Spectre comes to theaters November 6th, 2015 and stars Dave Bautista, Christoph Waltz, Daniel Craig, Ralph Fiennes, Monica Bellucci, Léa Seydoux, Ben Whishaw, Naomie Harris. The film is directed by Sam Mendes.

Anyone else spot Talulah Riley in Thor? Funny, her and Alice Krige are very bond-movie types IMO. Also Kara Tointon has an interesting look, havn't seen alot of her acting though.

anyone on Coronation Street are not talented, it's one of the worst series on TV. If she's serious in leaving then go to other decent shows like Doctor Who.

@thedude-abides To be honest, it doesn't matter to me. I can see pictures of Upton on the 'net whenever I want. Her getting a role in this film, while good for her career, doesn't mean anything to me, especially if the film is bad (which I doubt it will be). Also, to echo @shuabert and his point of her acting skills, I wouldn't want another Denise Richards situation.

Was looking at the St. Trinians cast - and Tamsin Egerton and Talulah Riley look interesting for a bond film maybe?

I kind of understand why they looked at Helen - she has that classic femme-fatale sinister look about her, but I can't see her being much more than a receptionist or assistant to a bad guy maybe, but who knows, I havn't really seen her acting (except in I'm A Celebrity lol). Kate Upton is interesting, but hope her capacity in the movie is believable if they choose her, they'll make a good decision anyway.

Please tell me that the helen flanagan part is a joke????
We are talking a stupid bimbo of a actress from coronation street( uk soap opera), who cant string a proper converstion together, is just a pair of t*ts, not really much to look at either. scared of her own shadow when she did im a celebrity get me out of here. Moaned and cried all the time, and has no talent at all.

Without question Kate Upton. Who cares if she isn't a gteat actress as the majority of Bond girls weren't. All Kate Upton has to do is be a decent actress, which I think she can be, and look gorgeous, which will not be a problem as she is one of the sexiest women in the world.

I don't know Helen Flanagan, but....mmm...Kate Upton. Can she act, though? The Craig-era Bond films have given the Bond girls meatier roles, so you can't get away with casting someone like Denise Richards anymore.
