‘V/H/S’ ’Second Honeymoon’ and ’The Sick Thing’ Posters

James Stokoe and R.M Guera debut the first two in a set of five comic inspired art pieces from this horror anthology.

The much ballyhooed horror anthology V/H/S is coming to select cinemas starting October 5th, but if you live in some small hick town in the middle of Arkansas, you can watch it right now on VOD! In support of this extended launch and promotional run, a series of five unique comic-inspired art pieces are slowly being dolled out. We have the first two for you to check out here. The first poster is from R.M. Guera, which is inspired by the Ti West directed segment 'Second Honeymoon'. The second one is from artist James Stokoe, and it is inspired by Joe Swanberg's 'The Sick Thing That Happened To Emily When She Was Younger'. We also have a just released clip for you to check out. Watch to find out, "What's Happening!" (We certainly don't know.)

I might be a bit late to the party, but...

I'm pretty positive that the second poster was inspired by "Amateur Night," not "The Sick Thing That Happened to Emily When She Was Younger."

@skywise Ok, but don't get your hopes up too high or blame me if you dislike it :P

@crypt Sounds interesting. I will pick it up when I can.

@skywise Yes, Innkeepers was pretty good. however I prefer House of the Devil. And The Roost I think was West's first film. It's just ok, not too bad. Its like a zombie movie on a farm. But what was cool is in the special features, there was a short film he did in college titled Prey, which i rather enjoyed.

@crypt the Inn Keepers yes. the first film I saw from West and I have to say it hit all the right chords. i dont find many movies....lets say...creepy but that movie had me checkin the shadows at night. I loved it. Have not seen the Roost. Is that West also?

  6. The Cryptkeeper: Resurrected

@skywise Yes, for sure. Have you seen The Innkeepers or The Roost by chance?

PS- HotD is on Netflix, or at least it was a month ago, when I was over at my buddie's house.

@crypt I think its On Demand right now but I am not absolutly sure. I will definatly let you know what I think of HotD. You are pretty much the only other hardcore Ti West fan around here so its nice to have someone to sound off on with his stuff.

@skywise The House of the Devil is such a great film. If you watch it, for sure let me know what you think of it. And I hope I do too. Is VHS a limited release, or a wide release?

@crypt He really knows his genre. I got House of the Devil but have not watched it yet. Maybe tonight. That segment of VHS is still on my mind. I think you will really like his segment.

@skywise That sounds like Ti West all right, so I am sure I'll enjoy it.

@bawnian-dexeus Exactly. that is why it got under my skin so much because you just dont see "it" coming.

@skywise I agree. Makes you wonder who you will be spending the rest of your life with

    3 years agoby @bawnian-dexeusFlag

The posters seriously are lazy... Looks like they were painted by someone is aspiring to be an artist in highschool... has some skill, but not professional just yet!

@bawnian-dexeus Ti West's short for this movie will be very devisive. I found it rather boring while I was watching it but after the movie finished it was the one I remebered most. The horror from that segment does not come in the form of the supernatural but from genuine-seeming and unexpected human atrocity. The brutal and transient nature of this segment wedged into my head and would not leave. @crypt

@bawnian-dexeus Oh, ok. That makes sense.

  18. Bawnian©-Dexeus

@crypt No necessarily. I was expecting the Second Honeymoon to contain supernatural elements. It didn't so it left me disappointed when compared to the rest. It wasn't bad, but generally, the weakest

@skywise Haha, lucky. Well I don't pirate and am proud of that :P haha but I'd like to see this if it is in a theatre near me. Not sure if it is getting a wide release or not.

@bawnian-dexeus And then you must obviously prefer supernatural content to slasher, or whatever Ti West's was correct?

@crypt "obtaining" the film right now. Will watch within the next few days.

Having rented the movie on iTunes already, I'm pretty sure the second poster is actually 'Amateur Night'.

  24. Bawnian©-Dexeus

@crypt Given that the others are far more supernatural in content, it is the weakest

Actually I think Second Honeymoon is one of the better ones. It's his typical slowburn that ends with a nice twist.

  26. The Cryptkeeper: Resurrected

@skywise Yes, you must view The House of the Devil as well. Even better than The Innkeepers.

@crypt I agree. I watched Inn Keepers recently and was absolutly impressed.

@bawnian-dexeus Second Honeymoon is the weakest? That is too bad. Says up there that one is Ti West's. He is one of my favorite indie horror directors. Have you seen his other work?

    3 years agoby @cryptFlag

  29. The Cryptkeeper: Resurrected

Even more pumped than before. I'm assuming this will be a limited release, but does anyone know for sure it will or will not be?
