“Genuinely interesting to a point....”

It's been forever since I posted a review here and it's very late and it's Sunday so I'm keeping it brief! Far better than Richard Kelly's previous outing but, still no Donnie Darko. The Box and everything that goes with this film is a very obvious attempt to keep the "what the hell?" feeling go ...

“A very good addition to the Star Trek franchise but far from great.”

So many people have had their say about JJ Abrams reboot of Star Trek and for the greater part everyone is right. He has done the job that needed to be done and brought Star Trek back to the greater public. A film that places the focus on fast pace, fantastic visuals and surprisingly tight acting...

“How can so much go so wrong in just 84 minutes?”

The best cinema experiences in my book are the films you have very low expectations of that turn out to to little gems. This film is not one of them! Don't get me wrong I have nothing against Dragonball or Dragonball Z. I have found both the Anime and Manga very enjoyable. Hell I live in Tokyo an...

“More than deserving of it's Oscar win and vastly more powerful than this years Best Picture winner Slumdog Millionare.”

With every passing year and every passing Academy Awards ceremony I still find myself asking, why can't foreign language films be eligable for Best Picture? I'm sure there's a reason, but sadly it's no excuse. After it's much desevered Oscar win for Best Foreign Film, Departures has been re-run i...

“Much needed extra insight.”

The Resistance websodes added that extra insight making Season 3's lesser characters carry the weight they most certainly deservered. It showed far greater depth to the New Caprica resistance and The Union that the series didn't have time to touch on. Well worth the watch if you can find them....

“One of those most awesome cinema surprises!”

I have to say I didn't expect anything from this film. As enjoyable as the cast line up reads on paper, the whole gang banging ultra violent cop things been done to death. But hey I was 92.7846% wrong! The story was nothing overly original BUT, Keanu Reeves pulled a tight performance and made this a...

“At last a movie that can actually be scary!”

I had grave reservations about "Rogue" its release was put back several months and in some countries it will be heading straight to DVD. I now find myself asking why? "Rogues" strength lays in what it doesn't show you. What's out there in the dark, under the water that you can't see. A classic f...

“I think I've done that!”

The first thing I thought after watching "Superbad" was this is the way I wanted "American Pie" to be! It's probably the most consistant laugh a minute comedy I've seen in ages. Superbly acted by three fanatstic young actors who we'll probably only see in bit-parts in future films, but in this flick...
