"Okay. But, I'm saying, it's like, I don't want to cram in sex or guns or car chases, you know... or characters, you know, learning profound life lessons or growing or coming to like each other or overcoming obstacles to succeed in the end, you know. I mean... The book isn't like that, and life isn't like that. You know, it just isn't. And... I feel very strongly about this." -CHARLIE KAUFMAN (Adaption)

ZANYZAP ENTERTAINMENT

A note unrelated to movies, BLINK IS BACK!

Top Ten Films of 2009:

(as you can tell by the somewhat weak and meager selection, the list is highly susceptible to change. Hopefully the later months provide more quality films!)

1. Inglorious Bastards
2. Funny People
3. Star Trek
4. Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince
5. The Hangover
6. The Hurt Locker
7. (500) Days of Summer
8. I Love You, Man
9. Moon
10. Where the Wild Things Are (It didn't live up to my high-expectations; I laughed at its silliness more than screenwriter/director probably intended).

‘Watchable,’ but still enjoyable:

11. Drag Me to Hell
12. Angels & Demons
13. Watchmen
14. The Soloist
15. The Taking of Pelham 123
16. State of Play
17. Orphan
18. Taken
19. Terminator Salvation
20. Friday the 13th
21. Public Enemies
22. Transformers 2

(the reason Transformers 2 and Public Enemies touch the bottom of the list is because my high expectations were ruined. I'm sorry Mr. Bay and Mr. Mann. You ruin my dreams...)

Favorite Contemporary Literature (that would make wonderful films):
1. The Lovely Bones (Peter Jackson, 2009)
2. The Time Traveler's Wife (Film = dud; novel = excellent)
3. The Given Day (Sam Raimi? I'd rather Ron Howard)
4. The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier and Clay (Production Hell)
5. Water For Elephants (Francis Lawrence, not a good choice)
6. A Dirty Job by Christopher Moore (Sam Raimi top choice; well, only choice).
7. Looking For Alaska (Best YA Novel, modern Catcher in the Rye, amazing)

Christopher Moore = Funny/campy shit (movie material? maybe...)

Hmmm, yeah the screenplay was awful, well there have now been 2 redrafts.
So i'm guessing that it will only be Lizard in this one, and Roderick as a normal person, it would be a bad move making him Hob Goblin at the moment, too many goblins to be honest.
I'd like to see his character have the rise and fall character which transcends him to become Hobgoblin.

I didn't like the dialogue at all, it reminded me of part 3 and especially the way SM/PP summed up the 3 films in the beginning peed me off, also too early to bring in Lizard, like where he was in the screenplay, first 2 minutes, i mean come on you got to be having a laugh, should be approx 15 - 20 mins before Connors creates Lizard, gives times to show the serum and its development or even have Roderick sell him an ingredient for the serum, which Roderick know will go wrong but he wants to test it on humans, and since Connors is willing to take the risk, well you get the picture.

Current screenplays i got are.

Batman, Superman & WW: Trinity
Green Arrow: Superman
Green Lantern
Kick-Ass
A Nightmare On Elm Street (Remake Jan 2009 draft)

Robert Rodriguez's Predator 3 (1993 draft, now formely known as Predators, it was too expensive to do and plus they didn't have the technology for it that time).

Sherlock Holmes
Thor
The Lovely Bones
World's Finest (Batman Vs Superman)

Lol. Haha. My bad man. I hate having same pics as others too. Thanks for the generosity. :)

And yeah, me and D (never called him that before, lol) are really into TLA because I watched it with my little sis when she'd come over and I got into it. Him, he watched it with his son. And we both enjoyed it. Lol.

And I am sorry for that man. I wish it had gone better for you guys. At least the movie was good? Lol. But really, is she still there (heart/place...sofa) or no?

Lol. Its oaky man. Same here. I just am trying to get by work, impress the girl I love, and then write some stuff. And yeah, I am writing a graphic novel with a friend and a possible series. Hoping to pitch the comic to Vertigo by next summer. Crossing my fingers.

And yeah, I know what you mean. Writers block doesn't help either. But it does get better. Keep up the optimism friend.

Glad you have a break. I have weekends usually off so yay me man.

And a movie? Hmmmm... well I would say either (500) days of summer but its not on dvd. Maybe Elizabethtown because its not a huge lovey dovey movie but its real and relatable. And good luck cooking man. :) Drop by on my page when you can.

And P.S. I am glad we have 99% of the same taste. I like your taste in books. But I need to read more often besides GN's and popular literature. Lol. Till next we chat... be it tomorrow or next week or whenever's. :) Chow.

Nice that sounds pretty interesting, i haven't seen Judd Apatow's new film, but haven't read great reviews on it either.
But his comedy films are usually top notch.

But usually comedy is the hardest genre to write along side romance, because you have to tap into inner human emotions.
It sounds interesting though.

What's the novel about?
like synopsis and genre.

I know how you feel mate i've been trying to work on my novel for ages, i just got basck into doing it and rewriting and replanning chapter summaries, i only wrote 1 chapte of it for an English essay got an A, but everyone that read it wanted to find out what happens next.
It's a religious fantasy horror called 'Sinner'

The Bond film is rolling good, i'm just waiting on response to find out if the next Bond will feature a moneypenny backstory.
I've phoned up the studio, they said they'll get back but no luck yet i'm gonna phone again this week.

Also planning out Bourne 4, since Universal have optioned the rights to everyone.

But check the page dude, i'm gonna be recently updating, i'm gonna be adding a synopsis's on within a few days for each project.

Nothing much dude, just been bare busy, plus i've been spending some time with my new GF.

Also sent off a treatment to Scott Free Production to write the remake to 'The Warriors' and Tony Scott loved my ideas, even got on the radio with the dude, his awesome. In Scott's words.

'When Warriors drops trust me, you will know, its going to be very controversial and just violently controversial, ever genre of controversey. What this young upcoming and budding screenwriter has written is beyond words, were definately gonna bring back the hard R rating with this film, believe me its something to excited about. Not just for fans of the old version but people will love this new version...its still the same story but just remodernised, reinterpretated not only for the next-generation but also ther older."

Keeps your eyes peeled gonna have the full radio tran in a few days on the page :)

What about you?
What you been up to?
Btw loving the Lovely Bones feel to the profile.

Well, apparently James Mcteigue will direct and the Wachowski's will produce, but i dunno it's quite iffy.
The Wachowski's will bombard it with SFX and can you really imagine Supes doing the Matrix dodge.

Question is though what is Mcteigue drops out, they haven't asked him yet, and well James hates being the last to know.
But the duo didn't do so bad with the Matrix Trilogy, since all 3 of them worked on that together, James was a 1st A.D on all the matrix films.
Although i'd prefer someone that is actually a comic book writer to write the , they are more adapted to the formula of comics and of course films.
I think the film needs to be an origin story, some where focusing on the lines of BirthRight, i'd like to see a Krytpton back story as well, J.J Abrahams Supes proposal was darn interesting, since it was based on the destruction of Krypton, it's called Superman:Flyby, here is some info on it
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Batman_vs_Superman#Batman_vs._Superman

just scroll down a bit, its proposals for the fifth Superman film.

Well Mad Max does dous intriguing, the only bad thing is cough George Wanking cough Miller cough and well no Mel, but maybe he might make an appearance its still early.

LOL @ Lohan, that would just be worth seeing the film just for that, your concept could be a new music video to Amy Winehouse - Rehab

Co-wrote the first draft of the SCRIPT and came up with the idea for the poster.
But, the idea on that website has officially gone down the drain, i actually not sure why the website is still there.
There was a massive argument, because Nicky, myself and the producers.
Nicky wanted the film to be just a small film, you know like no theatrical distribuition but shown at festivals, i thought along with the producers that this should be a world wide theatrical distribuition, you know not just a small fry movie.

If you read his life-story, your understand, it's amazing. And well due to him throwing fusses that he wanted to be a small hit movie, when everyone believed it could be a massive big-selling movie, everyone backed out, because they didn't want to be wasting their money if their gaining no profit.

And well since then nothing has happened for Nicky's version of the movie, but that's kind of damaged the film's rep when trying to ship it around to studios, and the simple fact is not wanting to do this film without Nicky, is kind of annoying to me because its his life-story even though he loves the .
But we have the faith that this is not a small movie, while he does and well his a bit of a stubborn person, its hard it change his mind.

But here is the book and the other one i mentioned

&
Run Bsby Run by Nicky Cruz & Jamie Buckingham

Definately both brilliant reads, this 2 books would be well fucking awesome films

Avoid the cliches and go for the creativity and originality, technically what our mainstream media has forgot.

Meh, i hate maths unless it involes some big numbers, my name and a cheque, but lol i get you.
Also sounds devilishly interesting, i like it when limits and boundaries was tested, it a great obstacle for characters to overcome.

Sinner is my novel, i'm working on that i want to turn to a comic character and hopefully one day have his controversial debut novel transfered to the big screen.
The 'Sinner' is an action fantasy with horror and anti-religious and religious themes focusing on a hero named Judas, who must save the world from rising forces while he battles with his own demons he is the only one that can stop the war between heaven and hell.

I thought that would make a good movie too, my mum told me about it, it was in a mafia documentry she watched about siciliy and the mafia, she told me about the group and the name of it but i forgot, i've been trying to refind the the documentry on the Crime Channel but no luck so far, i wanted to do some research on it, they sounded like an interesting group.

I know lol, but by that i meant the comics lol, not the SCRIPT, you can probably download them via torrents, and read them online using CDisplay

Insults? I was merely complimenting :D

Interesting, i'm liking the first one definately, Watchmen meets dark knight meet Charles Bronson in Death Wish
The you killed my family, now i'm coming to kill you with my pistol and my switchblade is too cliche.

The second sounds really interesting as well, despite the small info, i recommend reading Batman/Superman & World's Finest for research since it chronicles them working together and also at one point being enemies.

Even more Badasssery, he has a Hattori Hanzo Sword, and yeah it's a very controversal action horror fantasy.
Sinner is an all out bad ass mother fucker you dont wanna see walking down an alley.

indeed it is quite ironic, what's your controversy for your novel, i'm guessing he does something that is against his religion or that of priesthood.
A nice bit of info as well, you might find interesting, is that in Sicily there were vigilante priest and when the courts failed to punish them, then these priests would, hence forth why there are secret passage ways in churches in Sicily. They use to take them down there and well execute them in the name of God and to make the world a better place.

LOL, a smart ass you are indeed, he made that assumption i think because he saw our comments.

Hmmm, your welcome and both stated projects sound pretty interesting as long as you dont go down the spider-man 3 route lol
I think what makes a good readable comic is a comic that can inspire people which involves a main character that everyone can relate to, with of course some interesting background, stories and characters just thrown in the pot.

Yeah i have FD 7 & 8, lol, dunno why i still got 7 in my comp lol.
I downloaded FD8 and turned it into a full version using a patch, best option, FREE PROGRAM :D

But for some reason i prefer to use FD for film SCRIPTS and use CELTX for theatre plays, musicals and comic SCRIPTS (i'm learning them from 2 friends, one specialises in comics and the other in manga), i think its just the way they are formatted and laid out, FD just feels difficult for theatres and comic SCRIPTS

LOL, me and you have the same problem then, i can't draw to save anything, lol unless its stick men.

Same here, 'Sinner' started off as just a short story i wrote for an English assignment and now its just developing into this mad creative anti but still religious novel, despite that it works as a novel, i think it would awesome to see it as a comic, since its like Preacher, Blade, Spawn and all these other dark comics.

I asked my friend to do a book cover, but he doesn't wanna do a burning cross because its too unchristian.
I love controversy, lol.
Can you imagine a burning cross on a front cover with a dark angel on it, like wow.

If you want i can give you instructions to snag FD 8, free, that is if you ain't got it already.
:)

Also if you looking to write a comic or even a movie , i recommend using CELTX, but your probably already using it, lol.

But if not here is the link to download it.
http://celtx.com/

I use Celtx, for theatre plays and stuff and FD8 for film s.
I'm also going to start learning how to produce a comic , since i'm working on completing a novel, i'm writing and then adapt him into a comic

L&S is wiriting his own Bond movie, since when? lol

I am, i don't intend to have any invisible vechiles, Zap.
By superbike, i meant one of them really fast ones, you know the ones they use on the race tracks, but i think they may be too difficult to steer and handle on the flooral structures of the proposed continents i want this film to be shot on.

Yeah well, when you listen to the new Bond tunes such as 'You Know My Name' and 'Another Way To Die' and then you compare them to the older Bond themes, the old ones over rule them by a mile.
And i want to bring that sense of Bondness back, and the people that have read the chorus have stated it sounds like a Jazzy Bond theme in the styles of that to Shirley Bassett's Diamonds Are Forever.
Which i'm proud of because that is the style i'm aiming for, i want this to be a classic Bond theme but for a modern day auidence, but i want it to be stood and remembered just like Diamonds Theme is.

And well off the Bond Topic
It depends each studio has an identity, and well you have to look at the focus of your themes within your product and look at the identity of the students and ask yourself, where does your product belong?

Does it belong with DC, whom started on the lines of making comics for young kids with Batman and Superman in their early days and they've now evolved into a more teenage auidence demographic particularly for the male auidence.
Or does your product belong with their (DC'S) more older unit being Vertigo, because some of your themes are more suited for the older male/teeenage auidence.

There is no success rate, because your the success rate, it all depends on how much and how far you believe in the project and how good you are at convinving others to that of your perspective.
You have to ask yourself some questions like...

Your perspective...
Do i believe in this project?
Can i expand on it?
Can i convince people that this project is a success and that i'm not any dumb-wit looking for my big break?
What makes this project unique?

From a producer's prospect,
would i put my money into this?
Is it profitable?
How do i know this?
What makes this project unique, creative and different from ever other project being proposed to me?

From an auidence perspective...
Would i pay to see this? Why then?
What themes doe sit have that i like?

That is a major reason why a lot of films tend to be broaded into different genres with say action fantasy with a dash of romance, its to slash in on a bigger target auidence.

They are generally the question mainly you have to ask yourself, but answer them from the perspective of the person, not your own opinion, you have to be open-minded because if your asking them in your opinion in the shoes of the person asking them, your obvious answer will be

"of course i would put money into this it's my own project, like duh"

You have to answer them in an opinion of the given person and in their perspective and then ask why...

Here is an example on Batman, i just concepted for a producer and probably in the perspective of Bob Kane & Bill Finger...

Batman is an original product of a superhero aimed at children and young teens and upwards with an array of memorable characters such as his sidekick, Robin and memorable bad guys such as Joker, Penguin, Catwoman and The Riddler?
He is different from that of Superman, why?
Because he is just an ordinary Joe, he doesn't have superhuman powers from Krypton, his just an ordinary joe that has a detective side to him, anyone can be BATMAN!

That's just an example of a opening proposal, i just created for Batman.

OOOOO, an iphone, as a weapon, that does sounds cooler lol, and that is better product place campaign and well Apple are bigger sponsors than BB.

By bike i meant normal bike, dirt bike i think a superbike might be too much for the trails of Greece, Egypt & Turkey.

LOL and that is why i chose Duffy, i prefer her over Winehouse. The song needs someone with a jazz element, and well the top 2 mainstream artists that come to mind when reading the lyrics are Winehouse and Duffy, i'd be stunned if a guy could sing this well, this song is suited for a woman.
The old style of the Bond themes has to return, none of the rock garbage, although i did like 'You Know My Name' by Chris Cornel.

Duffy owns Wineyhouse

July 30th, 2009 10:42am
Couldn't agree more on the themes of QOS & Royale, simple fact is Royale owns QOS, because of its themes and the way it beautifully recreates Bond in a realistic gritty origin, and plus its more true to the books.

Invisible cars, WTF? This ain't Die Another Day, i'm thinking Bond just needs a stylish Aston Martin with a bit of tech and some decent gadgets.
Had a though of a gun stylised as a blackberry, but i think it might be too corny.
I'm aiming for realism, not invisible cars, it doesn't go, maybe a bike since its set in Greece.

Indeed i always apply that theory, all my titles link to the film plot weathers its noticable or not, it helps and also it keep the title short and sweet, but has it be eye catching at the same time.

Yeah i know, can definately see these guys recrating the James Bond Theme, indie rock style

Well the track is meant to be kinda influenced by Diamonds Are Forever, so it needs a really stong powerful voice, i know Duffy is brilliant for that because the lyrics go in a jazz flow, the main 2 candidates i could see singing the strong jazz parts are only Duffy or Amy Winehouse and Tulisa on the mellow sides of the verses. But Tulisa and Duffy's voices harmonise much better, hence why we though of them.

I know the song shouldn't be a concern yet, but i want this to fly straight into production after Bond 23.

Yeah its actually very hard to find one, that can do both really well, Rihanna is pretty good at acting and Tulisa aint bad she's done a few streets dramas, so she got the experience and all

And thanks dude :)
  (Spam)
July 29th, 2009 1:30pm
Yeah thats why i'm trying to find a balance between Royale and Solace.
If you noticed Royale and Solace were the opposites to each when it came to defining the themes and terms of the action genre.
Royale was all about the plot not the action it was very plot driven and character driven.
While Solace switched all that around.

I think balancing them out is the best way for a Bond film to go, but you also have to infuse and modernise what fans loved about the previous installments before Craig's run as Bond, so like Moneypenny, Q and a decent villain, QOS antagonist to me seemed like a fag.

Indeed recreating Moneypenny is very exciting, and yep, the title all leads back to the main theme of the film, a title is crucial it needs to be catchy, short but still in relation to the plot, well at least that is my theory.

Also i've been listening to Muse, lately, since getting recommendation for yourself and Vis. i know a few songs of them never knew who did them really.
But i can definately see these guy redoing the Bond theme, you can hear influences of the Bond theme in their tracks such as Knights of Cydonia, Starlight, Supermassive blackhole.

So far due to the chrous of the film, myself and Barbara have envisioned Duffy & Tulisa Constovalas singing the track which is called 'Facts of Life & Death', there was a consideration to have Beyonce, on the track, but we might keep it British lol.

Here is a taste of Duffy
Duffy's - Mercy
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nLFn5jz961E

This is a little video me and a friend did to show Duffy's talent and how well it fueses with Bond. This is the track that made me pen her on the lyrics, its one of her tracks to the opening sequence of QOS and it goes damn well better than that shitty 'Another way to die'

Duffy's - Rain on your parade (QOS Opening)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TWpsLqEVzto

And well its last but not least to introduce Tulisa Constovalas, i'm penning her for a role in the film.
As one of the agents that gets killed.

BTW i did the camerawork for this video and myself and Tulisa wrote the lyrics to this song, when we were depressional state of mind.

N-Dubz - Strong Again
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OjM64CEQFQ0

Enjoy :)

Also i think if Duffy was an actress she would make a pretty damn interesting Moneypenny.
What do you think?
  (Spam)
July 28th, 2009 11:24pm
Yeah, lol i like M talks as well, and yeah i think there was a bit about suspensding Bond in QOS, but i cant remember if it was between M and Bond, i remember she talked with that Governor guy or MP, whatever he was and she let him go when they went to arrest him.

This scene is in the middle, after he has met Moneypenny...Whom will be a complete new character, i'm planning on reinventing her for a modern day auidence, she plays as a agent, she'll be like a Bond girl in the SCRIPT and obviously this shows you how she ends where she was in the other films.
I'm still keeping the realtionship between them though and keeping Moneypenny's characteristics, i just think Moneypenny needs to be an explored character, she needs a background and the background in her own book series are very dull.

I'm not too sure if Q is actually going to be introduced in Bond 23, my main concern was asking on Moneypenny because she plays a more crucial role in the story.
I think i'm trying to find a balance between QOS and Royale positive point and fuse them with the things and characters we loved from the previous Bond installments prior to Royale.

And indeed i have though of a title, its called 'Life & Death' but it may change since thats preferably only a working title.

Believe me its gonna be a very plot driven and character developed Bond movie.

Yeah the Bond Scriptment is going amazing, man, i've planned the end out and the story, and working on character development and also researching into Moneypenny, since Bond meets Moneypenny in this film.

According to a friend, Bond wont meet Moneypenny in Bond 23, so i'm making sure it happens in this one.
I'm trying to find a balance though because i want this SCRIPT to have the balances of all the advantages of Casino Royale & Quantum Of Solace, but infuse the old style of Bond that we love, but still keeping it dark and gritty in an exotic sceneary of course lol.

Here is a bit of dialogue

M
Bond...Your blinded, by what you do.

Bond
Blinded...I do what i have to, to get the job done, that's why you chose me.

M
Granted...but if your going to get anymore emotional interference within this job, your be suspended...Are we clear James?

Bond
Yes Ma'm

knock on the door, Bond gets up to open the door and leave at the same time.
To their surprise the knock on the door is from none other than Q

Q
Ahhh, Bond, there you are, i have something to show you...As

Bond interrupts

Bond
(smiles)
As long as it comes back in one piece.
