B. Alan Orange must really love spoiling movies for people. Even John Gulager didn't really want to talk about it. Promotional interviews aren't supposed to spoil so damn much.
[spoilers for John Carter and Battleship]

@huntsman What are you talking about? You saw John Carter. If you thought he couldn't show emotions then you didn't watch the film. The scene where he;s fighting the warhoons, the scene where he buries his daughter and wife, the beginning where he;s completely disabused of everything and this whole war that they're going through, the ending where he utters the line to get him back to Dejah... If you think he's not showing any emotions then I don't understand you.

He didn't show much emotion in Battleship, true, but I think that was the point. When his brother gets killed, you instantly get a close-up on him and it's like he doesn't react to it, he just stops for a moment, does what he's supposed to do and you only see an emotional reaction later on during a quick scene in a bathroom, but overall his character was kinda meant to be like that and it's a movie kinda meant to not dwell on those moments too much. But you saw John Carter, you have no excuse. I always liked Taylor Kitsch because of Friday Night Lights but it wasn't necessarily him, it was just a great, well-written show with a great cast and shot in a very interesting way so I just thought he was a good actor but didn't give much a thought about what he'd be like as a leading man. John Carter made me a fan of him as an actor, he carried that entire movie and nailed the emotions in my opinion perfectly.

Everything about this screams "Japanese movie." I almost expected a Japanese director or something. It actually appears to be a Russian film.

I'm surprised by the positive reaction, this trailer looks like a parody. So, so weak. I expected something much better.

I'll be honest with you: as far as I'm concerned, I'm pretty sure watching this is gonna be more exciting than watching The Dark Knight Rises.

"They're going to have to talk fast and going to have to be smart. A lot of things actors can fake, but not intelligence."
If that's not a jab at Ashton Kutcher...
I vote Taylor Kitsch. I have no idea where the complaints with his acting in John Carter and Battleship come from. Armie Hammer and Garrett Hedlund are good too, especially Hammer, but Taylor Kitsch has that spark, that bad-ass likability, and he looks handsome in a pretty unconventional way for a Hollywood actor. I;m not surprised he's Canadian and chooses to reside in Austin, Texas, he looks different for Hollywood and I love that.

... Do you even know what a geisha is? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Geisha
It's a fantastic trailer but the thing that bothers me is "open a can of domestic violence..." lolwut?
Agree, I'm proud of Peter Berg, he had many of the elements of a studio disaster but he and his writers arranged them in a way that just works and reminds you that big summer blockbusters can be very fun and very intense if the people behind it make use of intelligence and skill.

I thought this movie was supposed to be live action?

Oh.

It makes you wonder how bad the tracking must have been for Paramount to think it would be worth it to write off all that promotion as a loss since it would have been pointless, spend a ton of money in a lengthy 3D conversion and have to relaunch a new marketing campaign next year for a weaker release date? I love the comparison with Titanic's 3D. GI Joe Retaliation is more like Wtath of the Titans than Titanic; whatever money they're going to make with 3D will be offset by having less people going to see it.

I was thinking the marketing had been surprisingly pretty good so far, so this is a spectacular failure of a decision. A month before the release of a summer tentpole! I don't even know if that has ever happened before.
@gandoff2169 Agreed about both this version of Snow White sounding more interesting than the two of this year, and on John Carter. To be honest, I stop listening to people's opinions on stuff if they think John Carter is a bad movie. Obviously people are bound to like different things, but people who actually think it's a bad movie, I really can't trust their critical judgement of anything.

I have a feeling The Amazing Spider-Man will be extra-light on action, so yeah, that 4-min preview was already too much. Now they're adding 2 minutes to that and forcing people to see it by putting it in front of a big movie in theaters? Columbia pls.
