$100 would help keep the internet on at my house so I could check MovieWeb periodically to see if I've won.

wrote a comment about the news item Atlas Shrugged to Start Filming in June
I read Ayn Rand's "Fountainhead" a number of years ago after a number of people seemed to be mega Any Rand enthusiasts. I was far from impressed. It seemed a drawn out parade of the trials and tribulations of rich people. From Atlas Shrugged:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Objectivism_(Ayn_Rand) "My philosophy, in essence, is the concept of man as a heroic being, with his own happiness as the moral purpose of his life, with productive achievement as his noblest activity, and reason as his only absolute." Rand however seemed to have inspired a huge following of enthusiasts for her Objectivism philosophy, including important policy figures in the US such as former Chairman of the Federal Reserver, Alan Greenspan. I prefer Lisa Simpson's take: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Fountainhead In the The Simpsons episode "Four Great Women and a Manicure", Lisa calls The Fountainhead "the bible of right wing losers". |

While I thoroughly enjoy making snide remarks about forthcoming films, this actually looks worthwhile. It's definitely got potential.

Any time there's a movie based on a video game the marketing group should really get a handle on the demographic of who would be interested in seeing the flick in the first place. The tagline for the film should be target specfic: "Prince Of Persia: Yes You Will See Her Boobs." Guaranteed box office success. Now, who wants me on their marketing team?

For once I'd like to see a film where the characters take the advice of the kid up front, turn around and leave town. Maybe we could see them stop at the Olive Garden on the way out, have a nice lunch with a couple of bread sticks, return home and have a pleasant evening enjoying a good book or perhaps writing a letter to a good friend. But noooo, it's always "let's stick around and watch a girl break her own neck and crawl on the ceiling." I don't know about you but the Olive Garden sounds like a much better option to me.
