moviebuff123, you don't know what 'racist' means. Arguing the issue of the color of one's skin is not 'racist,' 'racism' is claiming one color (although race is not necessarily limited to skin color) is superior to another. Will Smith is a great actor and is fine for a number of roles. Captain America is not it, and yes, it's because he is black. That doesn't make me racist. While Michael Clarke Duncan worked as the Kingpin and Samuel L. Jackson works as Nick Fury, they are not flagship characters. They are not defined by their original comic-book skin color or look. Captain America is. It's no different than proposing a black actor for Spider-Man.
I like Depp as the Riddler, and I like Hoffman, but the Penguin is a terrible character. Hopefully he will not be as central to the story as Riddler. And no, Jolie as the Catwoman would not work. Get over that.
No, it's not due to Raimi. He is a phenomenal director and every other actor did a great job. The problem is Dunst is not believable as Mary Jane, who was a complex, arrogant, and exceptionally attractive character. Dunst is not exactly complex, and she's not beautiful, she's just 'cute.' You don't get a 'cute' girl to play MJ. There are other actresses with better range and better features. And while I 'liked' 3, Venom was handled poorly, and again, that was not Raimi's fault, that was that *sshole Avi Arad's demands to include a character that had no chance of being done well. He tries to run Marvel studios with an iron fist and it doesn't work that way.

My damn post got cut off. Taharqa was not a native Egyptian, he was a Nubian whose father conquered Egypt. Hollywood needs to explain all this if they're going to do it.

could be interesting, but if they don't explain this, it's going to start a bunch of crap about 'see, the Egyptians were black.' Don't bother doing it if they don't acknowledge this. And Taharqa wasn't the 'last pharaoh' anyway.
