@XxNickTheFilmCriticXx I'm not really sure where you're in disagreement, because you basically just reiterated everything I said, but with metaphors.

Where we do find ourselves in complete and utter disagreement is in regard to the story. F. Scott Fitzgerald's novel is hailed by many literary scholars to be one of, if not the greatest ever written.

To say Lurhmann's adaptation, a quite literal one I might add, wasn't intriguing or elaborate, and then to go on to simply dismiss it as corny and downright amusing, is essentially saying the same about F. Scott's story, and that is a conversation I will refrain from getting into other than to say yours is not a very insightful position to take in that respect.

Aside from that, like everyone, you're entitled to your opinion; but I don't think your opinion of this one is as different from mine as you might perceive it to be. Anyway, thanks for the read.
