My name is Lizzette. I am a 34 year old single mom of two boys (ages 8 & 13) and a 15 year old daughter with special needs. Favorite all time movie is the original Dawn of the Dead. I have all of them. Including the remakes. Like all types of movies. Get a kick out of dark comedies. Love to watch old kung-fu movies. But prefer horror movies the most. The more gore/blood, the better :) I have a 'fetish' for French horror films. My five favorite TV shows (on TV now) are Smallville, Supernatural, Heroes, Reaper, and Lost. I miss Buffy, Angel, Dark Angel, and Charmed. I would love to meet director George Romero, director Guillermo Del Toro, and SFX makeup artist Tom Savini. Also director David S. Goyer. I have the ONLY movie idea for him. It would COMPLETELY make up for Blade 3 & both BloodRayne movies. I am also a gamer. My favorite games are BloodRayne 2, The Suffering series, God of War series, Prince of Persia series, and the Resident Evil Series.

I MET GEORGE ROMERO!!!
I went to FangoCon on June 22nd (2008) and it sucked. I was expecting to see what I've seen on TV: people walking around in costume, music playing, etc. It was dead (unfortunately not the type of dead I was hoping for). There was this gothic chik walking around with a barely there tube top as a skirt and no undies. There were a few of them, actually. But I wanted to see zombies. Not left over wanna-be cast members of The Return of the Living Dead. They had people there trying to sell their artwork. Trying to sell autographs of celebrities who supposedly signed them. They were giving out pins in rememberance of SFX artist Stan Winston. New authors trying to sell their books. Etc, etc. There was this one author who wrote a book about a vampire cowboy called The Blood Rider. My cousin and I spoke to him for awhile. He was telling us what his book was about. I lost interest. Now that I think about it he kind of looked like Perez Hilton. Sitting there with a cowboy hat on didn't help either. My cousin's wife had to walk away because she couldn't hold her laugh in anymore. I'll check the book out....when it's in the library.
A lot of the celebrities who were supposed to be there weren't. They were there for that Friday & Saturday, though. The reunion for the 40th anniversary of Night of the Living Dead was cool. They spoke about what happened on set, etc. Hey, did you guys know that the actor who played Karen's father was her real father? Her character was originally written as a boy named Timmy. But when he brought her around he talked Romero into giving her the role. It was around Romero that as a child she first heard the F word.
I missed the photo ops with him while I was checking out stuff from the vendors. We didn't know it was happening at the time. But my cousin was able to get pics while the cast were speaking. When he emails them to me I'll post them.
When it was time for the autographs I was doing some major skipping on the line. There were a lot of people and I wanted to make sure I met him. I had so many things I wanted to say to him. But the closer I got to him the more nervous I became. LOL I was literally shaking. The dude that was sitting besides him kept saying no cameras allowed. So I picked up my cell and acted like it was vibrating. Even put it to my ear and said 'hello' a few times. Pretended like I couldn't hear the imaginary person on the other line. I held it up to my face to act like I was checking out the number and snapped a pic of him. Rubbed the cell against my shirt as if to clean the screen and repeated to act as if I was checking to see who called. Snapped another pic. Yay me! The guy he was signing an autograph for was saying a lot of strange things to him. The look on Romero's face was priceless. I guess these conventions really bring 'them' out.
Then it was my turn for an autograph. I froze. LOL I was starting to get the giggles. There was an auction happening behind the curtain behind him so it was hard to hear one another. He shook my hand (which I didn't want to wash ever again but unfortunately have to), stood up to say hello and asked my name. He's freakin' tall! I told him my name and handed him the $5 pic I bought for him to sign. (While others were buying the dark pics from the movie for him to autograph I bought a white one so that I can actually see his handwriting.) Because of the auction taking place behind him he was getting annoyed that he couldn't hear me spell out my name. I told him to just put 'Liz'. He shook his head and asked for the correct spelling of my name. (Aww, I felt special) As he was signing the autograph I told him that Dawn of the Dead was my favorite all time movie and how he's inspired me to write my own horror stories. Hoping to do something with them someday. He smiled and told me to never give up. Then he shook my hand again and I told him that it was really nice meeting him. I walked out of that place with the only cheesy smile on my face.
Like I said above, the convention sucked. But it doesn't matter because I MET GEORGE ROMERO!!! Of all the celebrities in the world he's the one I've always wanted to meet. Silly as this may sound, but thank God I shook his hand with my writing hand. It's now been blessed by the zombie master!

but my real name is Langston
i dont really pay attention to peoples' reral names
just there profile names
I'm glad you liked "Twilight," and I too enjoyed how they made it a love story, though a bit more blood would have tickled my fancy a bit more. XD!!!!! Anyway, I'll have to check those books you mentioned out, they sound good, and any vampire literature I can get my hands on is good by me. I have yet to read Bram Stoker's "Dracula," yet, though. I know, I know, shame on me, right? lolz. I own it, so I'll get to it eventually. Right now, I'm on book two in "Cirque Du Freak," having JUST finished Book One. Anyway, after finishing THAT, I'll be reading a few books by author Frank Peretti. Heard of him? After that I'm reading a series I got from Mom called "The Vampire Diaries," have you heard of/read those? Speaking of Vampire Literature, do you have an all time favorite Vampire Series of Books? Mine is Anne Rice's "The Vampire Chronicles. Now talking about books reminded me of the "Blood" series. I don't remember all of the names, but it's about a woman named Vicki Nelson, and the books are like "Blood Price" and "Blood Trail" and "Blood Lines" and "Blood Pact" and "Blood Debt." They've got a series on Lifetime called "Blood Ties" that I love and is based from the books. I haven't finished the books myself, though.
Anyway, I'm a HUGE "BloodRayne" fan, too. I know the movie is hated by all, since it's Uwe Boll, and it's also a murder of the games, but I like them. I never compare movies to their video games, save for "Resident Evil," since those actually do a good job of capturing the games, and I really enjoy the movies. Some of my all time favorites, actually. What about you?
That was a great set of rules, I was laughing so hard reading that, and then the joke after that had me laughing EVEN more. I especially enjoyed the rule about ignoring the pretty Vampire Slayer. XD!!!!!!!!!! BUFFY RULES!!!!!!!!!! LOLZ!!!!!!!!!!
As for "Twilight," the movie DID switch some things up, as well as leave some things out, but overall I was very pleased with the movie. I was worried about quite a few things, but what they did I thought they did well. The one thing I was most worried about them portraying was how Edward sparkled. That's all well and good in a book, but on screen that has potential to look REALLY stupid. However, the sparkling was subtle and good. Definitely eased my fears. Everything else was great. Did the movie convince you to try your hand at reading the series????? LOLZ!!!!!
Hope U are doing great there.
Wish this weekend brings you comfort.
Have a nice day.
See U soon,
With lots of love,
CK.
