FFFFUUUUUCCCCKKKKKK YOU!!! God, the ignorance of some of these comments is amazing! Singer made a break through film. It wasn't an all out action movie, you all are right. Guess what, it was never supposed to be. They had to tell a comeback story in this case the story of superman returning to metropolis after a five year absence. It had to be an emotional story because of the issues going on. As for the love story , it made sense for singer to show lois angry and upset at the situation. Superman leaving affected a lot people of in the story and they had show how everybody reacted to him coming back including lex. So many of you are only looking at Superman Returns as a one dimensional piece without understanding or even trying to see the full meaning. Watch Superman The Movie, and Superman II the Richard Donner Cut and the whole thing will make a lot more sense. Singer needs a chance to make The Man Of Steel. He already planted the seed with Superman Returns. All we need to do is let the flower blossum
