Actually, it's supposed to be a small movie about the first ape that can talk. The script was written a while ago by Scott Frank(who wrote Get Shorty, Out Of Sight and The Lookout, which he also directed). If it becomes a huge action movie, I'll know they messed with it a bunch.

Before you say anything, YES, I DID see Avatar and, while it was pretty to look at(the dragons were cool), whenever someone opened their mouth to speak, all it did was remind me of all the better movies I saw this year that I'd rather be watching again.

Honorable mentions: Fantastic Mr. Fox, Bruno, Drag Me To Hell, Paranormal Activity, The House Of The Devil, Where The Wild Things Are, The Road, Coraline, Grace, State Of Play, and Ponyo(released in the State this summer). Oh, and Watchmen, while it had its casting flaws, was quite an amazing thing to see come together on-screen.
