looks good. i like the song choice for the trailer, but don't know if i'd like it in the movie. i know it's purely a matter of opinion, but i like the music to match the era. thought Knght'sTale would have been better with a Medieval sounding soundtrack versus Queen and other modern rock groups. and, though i love the genre itself, i don't like rap/hip-hop as the basis for this movie (also, seems a little cliche since that genre of music seems to be the one most frequently associated with mobster mentality). i digress...
the trailer though is much better than the first. i will be seeing this. |

good decision not to include JCVD or any mention of Frank Dux. Now, if they could not mention this remake again, and forget this whole project altogether, that would be just great.

these appeal to someone somewhere. not me, per se... but they are going for the romance novel/classics fans.

wrote a comment about the news item Godzilla Will Be 'Grounded' Says Director Gareth Edwards
he wants it to be grounded in reality?? *shocking* wants to film in the reality of "what would people really do if this really happened"?? *what a revolutionary concept* if only other film writers, directors, producers and even TV production companies would follow this brave new and untapped approach to film-making... *rolls eyes*
don't get me wrong... i love that film makers want to be more grounded in their approach, but Edwards is speaking as though this is ground-breaking work. has he not seen Cloverfield? Any of Nolan's Batman movies? heard Zach Snyder talk about MoS being "more realistic" and even saying/asking "how would people really react if Superman were real"? lol "realism" is good, but unfortunately become TRENDY. sigh |

could be funny series (as @corey said). truth be told, would probably be better on FX, AMC or showtime, though if it were showtime it would resort to cheap dirty jokes that get giggles, but not truly funny. wish it were going to be on AMC or FX. oh well.

regarding the CGI - if it's done well, it could lend well to the story/storytelling. problem is, when CGI is obvious and overdone (not over-used). For example, Wild Wild West was AWFUL b/c it blended genres poorly (Western Fantasy) with overdone and epically, awful CGI. This looks like it is using CGI to enhance the Western genre, keeping it solely to that era. if that's the case, and not overdone/poorly done (such as Episodes 1-3 of Star Wars), then it could lend well to this movie. we'll see.

so... weird. all these A LIST actors in a raunch fest. even with funny lines, it is very weird to see Halle Berry giving hand gestures, Liev talking about, uh... puberty, etc. G Butler as a leprechaun... AWESOME. dunno if i'll see it (raunchy comedies are usually about pushing envelopes, ala the POOP jokes by the normal, pretty blonde girl versus story), but interesting idea.
another issue could be the mutliple story lines. It didn't work in Four Rooms and even intersecting story lines have not usually faired well (Love Actually did it best). |

this looked really good until JD appeared on screen. i'm having a hard time seeing him as Tonto, and not Jack Sparrow with a bird on his head. it also is a little weird that a bulk of this trailer did not feature the Lone Ranger or Tonto (which, in all honesty, actually served it better b/c once Tonto appeared my interest plummeted). that part with Tonto hanging onto the bottom of the train... *speechless sigh* Tonto may ruin this movie.

@dan1 @comicbookfan agreed on title.
still bummed they didn't continue with Affleck as Ryan. he was solid and got a bum deal. he and freeman were great in Sum of All Fears! |
