I agree CBF, I pray to God that Venom and Carnage are just in the Venom spin-off. That's where they belong. And if the other villain with the Lizard isn't Kraven then who else could/should it be? The only other villain that works best with the Lizard besides Kraven is Morbius.

No it's just two villains for 4 and two for 5. Two villains, Venom and Carnage, are set up for the next one.

Hmmmm, interesting. I think it's Dr. Connors who would somehow bring back Venom since he has that alien piece in the lab. Unless another will fall from the sky, I doubt it. Sam Raimi would not like that at all but we'll see.

Right, no confirmation...yet. :) There is supposed to be just hints of Venom returning in Spider-Man 4 to set up the spin-off, but we'll see I guess.

It makes perfect sense as to why Sam Raimi didn't want to make two films back to back. He didn't want to have to make a film that involved Venom and Carnage. I just wonder if the Lizard and Kraven are still the villains for 4.

Wow, that sounds awesome. It also makes sense as to why Sam didn't like it entirely. It also supports the fact that Sony want to use Venom and Carnage for 5 and/or 6 or whatever. Also, Sam just wants to do one or two villains, not three again or even four

Ok, so I guess Vanderbilt didn't pitch Venom and Carnage for 4 and 5. Sam just didn't like the idea of doing two movies back to back I guess. But Sony and Marvel loved the two part story idea/back to back idea.

So Sam, Tobey, and Kirsten are only signed for 4. 4 might be their last. But then again we thought 3 would be their last and looked how all that turned out so. But anyway, Penquin, you never answered my question. Who is your brother in California?

Sam Raimi and Tobey Maguire never signed, unfortunately. You didn't see the new interview with him when he said he wasn't sure if he would do 5 and 6. He said to ask him again in two and half years. He only signs on one film at a time.

Exactly and one reason if not the main reason why Sam Raimi didn't like Vanderbilt's was because it had Venom and Carnage. Variety.com has said this and yes last month they also said that James Vanderbilt has been hired to write 5 and 6 because Sony and Marvel loved his ideas where Sam Raimi did not and that 5 and 6 MIGHT be used as reboots to a certain extent if Raimi, Tobey, and Kirsten don't come back for 5 and 6
