I promised a friend to try to find out what this film is called.

It's about a group of french people, two of which are lovers, and they're on a roadtrip to find god. They pick up a bunch of strange people along the way, and alot of strange things happen, there's orgies and alot of drama.

When they finally meet god, it turns out he's a writer who's stories materialize into the world as we know it.

She said she saw it on tv about 8 years ago, and that's about all I have to go on for now..
