Well, It's good they changed the title name even if barely. It may be a good movie and the actors work, I do like McShane, don't know Ludwig (newbie?), Dr. Who is good (made a great Duke of Norfolk in Elizabeth, slightly sinister and fighting for his cause), BUT I definitely liked the flavor of the book better, set in a less complex era where an 11 (not 14) year old was assumed to have a grasp on common sense and responsibility. The book(s) have a depth steeped in history (not so much as), legend and old religion (paganism) of England which is where the fight between dark and light comes from. People who were/are more in tune with nature and the essence of life fighting for their beliefs. The movie, though it may be good on it's own, should not be considered anything but a very loose adaptation of the book. You could even say the movie borrows some ideas from Susan Coopers book and then creates a modern day story around them. Too bad the Walker, Jonathan Jackson, didn't make it to the final cut.
