Well, apparently Jackson's part has been cut from the movie

-- SPOILER AHEAD--

The actress who plays Maggie Barnes also takes on the role of the Walker. Wow, did they eff over the Dark is Rising and Susan Cooper!

Uggh, wish it was my last look at this mess. Seriously, I can't believe how blaise the production team was about dismissing and belittling the fan's of Cooper's book and the book itself. Hodge, was this one just too much effort for you? Did you think the "kiddie sci fi" genre was just a way to get an easy check by cobbling together a bunch of derivative, cliched plot points? Did you really say to yourself, these books are old and, really, who is reading them now adays to notice what a botch up I've made of this adaptation? I guess opening weekend will prove if you get away with this hatchet job....

To answer your question, AmbeRae7: take a quintessential British novel, tart it up to make it more "American accessible," rip out its soul, and you get this pablum -- a movie manufactured to appeal to the shallow and immature.
Oh how many has this trailer brought to tears! Walden/Fox, just to think of what a great movie you could have made with Cooper's novel, and to see how easily you stooped instead to cheap marketing gimmicks in its actual production! Hodge, next time please stick to your own properties or brush up on your understanding of the word "adaptation."
The marketing campaign might be cool, too bad the movie isn't. Take a quintessential British novel, tart it up to make it more "American accessible," rip out its soul, and? you get this pablum -- a movie manufactured to appeal to the shallow and immature.
Dear interviewer, thanks again for revealing that there was a lack of respect (boring???) for the source book by those involved in making this disappointing non-adaption. Way to go in attempting to encourage Amelia into also disparaging the book. Just more reason for book fans to avoid this insult of a movie.

I agree with McShane in his hopes that they don't make any sequels to this dreck. Not even an iota of respect for the source material in any aspect of this misadaption. I bet they wouldn't have thought HP fans would put up with this abuse!
