Lots of people in this movie with names that start with J: James Wong, James Marster, Jamie Chung, Justin Chatwin, and Joon Park. They all have something else in common as well - they all screwed up Dragon Ball.

James Wong is a no-talent hack who is incapable of making a decent movie. The only reason he was brought on board to this movie is because he's a corporate suck-up who is willing to do whatever that idiot Fox co-chairman Tom Rothman told him to do...which is to try to make DBE appeal to as many mainstream people (aka people who hate Dragon Ball in the first place) as possible. Too bad for Fox, Wong managed to screw that up as well. Fox can't make an anime/manga-to-movie adaptation because they just don't get it. End of story, now take your wishful back to the depths of that virtual dump called dbthemovie.

Yeah...he wasn't anything like Master Roshi. Roshi's not afraid or embarrased to grab Bulma's butt. He'd take a bullet in the head for a chance to grab her butt, this Roshi is like "ah, crap! Don't shoot! I'll let go!"

He sure does embellish a lot for someone who literally has about 6 minutes of screen time and gives no reason why he wanted to conquer Earth in the first place.
If the Goku is the same Oozaru that worked for Lord Piccolo 2000 years ago, then how is Goku 18 in this movie? This is why you should stick to the source material, where all Saiyans become giant monkeys, Piccolo is the evil half of Kami, who made the Dragon Balls (not this lame mystics baloney) and Nameks are a peaceful race that don't control Saiyans - leave that to Frieza. |

The essence of the characters did not remain. Goku was never the type to go chasing after girls. As a matter of fact, he never saw another human being besides his grandfather (who he stepped on as an Oozaru years prior) until he was 12 when he met Bulma. He had trouble telling the difference between genders, which led to some great comedy scenes. All Goku wants to do is train and get stronger.
This sad excuse for Goku is some skinny, wimpy high school kid who freaking cheats at his training and refuses to fight buillies. Goku never went to high school, would never back to down to anybody, and would NEVER EVER cheat at his training. Sorry, Chatwin...no I'm not sorry...you do not have the look nor the personality of Son Goku in this movie whatsoever. Not once did you remind of Goku. |

No, Wong. Just no. You ruined it. You, Fox, the entire cast. You all ruined Dragon Ball. Thanks a lot, jerk. Thanks for making this a generic, piece of garbage. Stick to sci-fi channel stuff or your lame Final Destination series, please. Stay away from Dragon Ball.

Oh yeah, Goku was not as big or tall by the end of Dragon Ball as he was in Dragon Ball Z, but he WAS still buff. Just not as buff when he fights Vegeta, but he WAS buff.

Dyablo, you say they're going for realism.
Question: How is an extremely skinny guy with superstrength realistic? |
