Ian Holm as Bilbo Baggins, maybe with a little botox and hair dye, remember he dosen't look so old in the scene where he finds the ring in the cave. but maybe Elijah Wood could play a young bilbo baggins but the only thing is, Bilbo is posta be 40 something when he finds the ring. he was 111 y/o in the lord of the rings and gandalf says something like he hasn't aged in 60 years. so that would put bilbo at around 40, i really hope the pay attention to all the little details. there's a lot of us out here that won't let the little things slide.
Andy Serkis as Gollum, who else could do the role? if McKellen is Gandalf then Serkis has to be Gollum.
Ian McKellen as Gandalf the Grey. nobody but McKellen could even try to pull this off.
John Rhys-Davies as Gloin. in the fellowship he is introduced as Gimli son of Gloin so it is only fitting if he plays his father in this movie. i know that one of the dwarfs in the cartoon hobbit movie is named Gloin.
Hugo Weaving as lord Elrond. if they really want to make this movie live up to the last ones, they have to go all out and get everyone that should return, plus Hugo is a great actor and i can't see anyone else playing his role.
