wrote a comment about the movie Predators
OK after viewing this movie a few more times I have noticed it's a total rip off of the first one and as a long time Predator fan I can say that it doesn't stand up to the 2 originals and IMO this is on par with the first AVP and that's me being nice. Wolf from AVP-R would have kicked all the Super Predators asses single handed and IMO AVP-R even kicks this movie's ass! I'm a huge predator fan and have been one since the 80's and now I'm glad they're trying to reboot my favorite franchise, but they gotta do it better than this! It's like just because Rodriguez's name is behind it, people are kissing ass, but what did he do that was so great with this film? Predator 2 is 100 times better! The AVP movies both have more originality than this one, but as far as acting goes, yeah Predators does win, but as far as action and entertainment, Predators looses against AVP-R and lands right next to the first AVP IMO.. Call me crazy, but as a fan I just gotta speak my opinion!

wrote a comment about the news item Alien Prequel Stalled Over Budget and Rating Disagreement
Now I've been a fan of the Alien movies since I first saw James Cameron's Aliens as a kid in the 80's and unlike a lot of folks, I actually enjoy the AVP movies, maybe it's cuz I've been collecting the comics since the late 80's too, but anyway all that aside, what the hell is Fox thinking? PG-13 and not giving it a big budget so it can actually have a chance to be great.. Instead they wanna water it down, that's some bull sh*t!

Vikinger>> I totally agree about the James Cameron part, but I don't think we'll ever see that happen, because he's not a big fan of the Predator franchise. You know what, as much as I like the sword fight in the new movie, I have to admit, the Predators blades would've cut the sword in half because they're made out of a different metal that they talk about in Predator 2 that cuts through anything almost. About the spear, well the first predator in the first movie never had any other weapon except for wrist blades and his shoulder canon, he never had a spear. The spear was first introduced in Dark Horse's first Predator comic that came out in 1989, "Concrete Jungle". After that the next movie to come out, Predator 2 incorporated the spear and added new weapons and even if the comic was based around different people, you can clearly see that Predator 2 was written and based off of the comic "Predator Concrete Jungle" as well.
About the invisible part, yeah, they usually stay cloaked, but they do turn of the cloaking devise when they're going after worthy prey and according to the new Predators movie, I guess you can say all these guys are worthy prey because they have all been hand picked by the Predators themselves. Nimrod Antal did use things from the comics in this movie, you can clearly see it, but if he would've been the main man in charge, I bet you that there would have been more, because of what he's said in his interviews. Rodriguez is the main guy who straight up has said that he does not like the Predator franchise at all except for the first movie, everything else to him is bad and I'm with you all the way on what you said earlier, a person who doesn't like a franchise should not be involved in making a movie for it either. He doesn't have to like all the movies and comics, but he sure as hell should respect what they have established, he shouldn't go talking sh*t about them. And his super predators, honestly they look like something out of the comics, and IMO there is nothing super about them, they remind me of a clan called "The Killers" that came out in the last comic called "Predator Prey to the Heavens"... Anyway, the movie was entertaining, I really liked it, although it could've been even better if they didn't steal scenes from the original Predator and remake them and also I totally agree with what you are saying about RR. |

Vikinger>> Now I don't agree with the mediocre part of your comment, but I do agree with what you said about RR talking sh*t about the comics! I enjoyed this movie, but at times the damn movie felt like a remake. I've been a fan of Predator since the first movie came out, I grew up with it and the comics and have followed it ever since. When I heard RR talking so much sh*t about the previous installments in the franchise and saying he was staying away from all that has been established in movies and comics and only going after what the first movie established I was kinda pissed, because as a fan I feel like who is he to disregard a mythology that has been built up over 20 years and this dude just comes on board and thinks he can change sh*t around? Now I'm glad Nimrod was directing this movie, because if it wasn't for him, I believe the movie would have been way worse. Nimrod Antal has stated in interviews that he loves everything about the Predator franchise, he grew up on movies and comics. He loved Predator 2, he's a huge fan of the AVP comics and even if the AVP movies weren't the greatest, he doesn't just bash them, he actually says good things about the people who made them and that they meant well, even if the movies themselves weren't what they could've been. I like RR's other movies like Desperado and From Dusk Til Dawn, but I gotta be honest, if he is to touch another Predator movie, he needs to come down to earth and recognize what the comics and other movies have established. Just because he doesn't like them, he can't disregard it, because then he's sh*tting on the fans and acting the same way Samuel Bayer did when he remade A Nightmare On Elm Street and totally screwed up everything...
Everybody has their own opinions, but this is just mine. Like I said I did enjoy "Predators", I even went to see it twice, but it does lack originality at times and the Producer of this movie get's outta line in his comments about the rest of the franchise. |

wrote a comment about the movie Aliens Vs. Predator - Requiem
I've been a fan of AVP since way back when the first cross over came out in 1990 by dark horse comics! I liked the first movie, was a little let down at first, but I still enjoyed the movie. AVP-Requiem though I have seen so many times I've lost count! I love everything about it, except for the little love story sub-plot was kinda off, but anyway the movie kicked ass and is on my list of favorite movies

This movie was good, but at times it took too much from the original. I personally liked Predator 2 better, but it was definitely good to see the Preds back on the silver screen again.

Jackie Earle Haley did a good job as Freddy and the kills were cool, but the movie felt very rushed and the change of Freddy's back story just ruined it for me. Hopefully if they make a sequel they will bring back the original back story of "The Springwood Slasher" to save this franchise! Freddy is a legendary horror icon, so they need to treat him like that when they make Nightmare movies!
