I'm not sure anybody said they were defeated but anytime Congress stops to re-evaluate something like this it's a win in my book. It shows they are at least thinking about it. True they may bring them back but let's hope they put more thought into it next time.
THE EAGLE. I liked this movie. It's not anything great but it was entertaining with plenty of action. I give it a 7.5/10.
EXTREMELY LOUD AND INCREDIBLY CLOSE. This one is a real tear jerker and a pretty good movie. Thomas Horn gives a great performance as the son of Tom Hank's son. The story was good and the cast was excellent. I give it a 9/10.

First of all I don't think Congress expected the backlash from the public it got and that kind of scared them.
Second, it's an election year. They would never do anything controversial in an election year.
Third, I hope most of them would realize that these bills took things way too far. Shutting down websites that are trying to comply is ridiculous but then Congress is known for their uninformed overreaction. They're shelving this indefinitely and let's hope they don't bring it back anytime soon. At least not in its current form.
THE COMPANY MEN. Actually a very good film about what the repercussions are to the people that are downsized from a big company. Although it deals mainly with managers, from executive to the lower levels it does give a face to large company layoffs. I give it a 9/10.
SECRETARIAT. Great movie about possibly the best race horse of all time. Very well done. I give it an 9/10.
THE TOURIST. I wasn't expecting anything great but it did turn out better than I did expect. Very enjoyable action, suspense flick. I give it an 8/10.
RUNNING SCARED. Forgettable, action, comedy. Made in 1986 it would have fit quite nicely in the 1970's cheesy category. I give it a 6.5/10.
X-MEN: FIRST CLASS. Nicely done prequel to the X-MEN series. I give it a 9/10.
MISSION IMPOSSIBLE: GHOST PROTOCOL. I really liked this one. Good story and cast with lots of action and special effects. I give it a 9/10.
ASTRO BOY. A very good animated film. I give it an 8/10.
THOR. Finally got around to seeing it. Weakest of the pre Avengers but still good. I give it an 8/10.
FOR LOVE OF THE GAME. Another Costner baseball film. (the other two were definitely better) Good but not great. Decent baseball footage. I give it a 7/10.

Hey my New Year so far has been pretty good. All eight hours of it. :)
I just went through and flagged a bunch. There's a ton of them in the GAMES forum and right here in the MOVIEWEB.COM SUPPORT forum. Someone needs to go through the entire forum site and check every forum. I just flagged one from months ago. Anyway thanks for trying to keep up with all of the spammers.
My personal picks to see in 2012.

World War Z
The Hunger Games
The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey
Abraham Lincoln; Vampire Hunter
Underworld: Awakenings
Safe House
The Three Stooges
Safe
Taken 2
Men In Black III

The Help
The Descendants
Midnight in Paris
X-Men First Class
The Debt
@Fast-Debrid, that would be GIRL WALKS INTO A BAR. It's still available to watch by the way.
12/29/11. It's continued chaos in the forums.
REAR WINDOW. Hitchc*ck's 1954 movie about a man (James Stewart) confined to a wheelchair with a broken leg that witnesses a murder...or does he? His girlfriend (Grace Kelly) is soon convinced but his wartime friend, police homicide detective Thomas Doyle, isn't so easily swayed. All the events take place in the apartments surrounding and overlooking a common courtyard and they all have their particular story to tell. This is still a great movie to watch, full of suspense and intrigue. I give it a 9/10.

Grave of the Vampire
HUGO. Not what I expected. Don't get me wrong, I liked it OK but due to a misinterpretation of the trailer on my part (something I almost never do) I expected fantasy, maybe even a little sci-fi. The writer takes artistic license with the true story the movie told and while interesting I doubt if I'd have gone knowing what I now know after having seen it. That said, for the movie it was, I give it a 7.5/10.
I guess that they spammers know there's an opening on Christmas Eve and so there is SPAM everywhere I look.

Invasion From Inner Earth
SHERLOCK HOLMES: A GAME OF SHADOWS. It seemed slow paced at first but overall it was entertaining with plenty of action once it got moving. Downey and Law were very good. Guy Ritchie did some interesting good camera work and editing and certainly has a different take on the Holmes and Watson characters. I give it an 8/10.
