why does everyone want the recast? Heaths was a ground breaking performance that can't be topped, only diminished. Joker doesn't need to be in it, and saying penguin or riddler should is stupid. Penguin wouldn't fit the mood of Nolan's Batman, and Riddler would either be too similar to joker or just pale in comparison to him. Hush would be the best choice, He knows Bruce as well as Batman, he has a hatred for him thats been brewing since they were children, and he's the flip side of Bruce. Then bring in some muscle for the action, like firefly or Bane, who could both be done brilliantly in Nolans universe without being silly.

why does this always turn into a pissing contest, we're all writing here to discuss the pic, not have a biggest dick contest. Ivan Vanko is the name of The crimson dynamo in the new iron man animated series. Rourke's Ivan Vanko is going to incorporate both characters, and I believe there calling him whiplash here because his weaponry models the comic version of whiplash. Really he'll be playing more the role of dynamo as he is a russian expatriate.

prison garb, barb wire fence to keep him in. he's obviously being used as a guinea pig in testing what looks stolen stark tech. He probably breaks free, updates that mess into real gear. its the exact same way iron man started out, and thats not a bad thing.

i didn't think the movies were as good as the show, funny but losing something in the transition to feature length. But I guess enough of us watched them to bring it back!

It seems to me since he isn't an x-man persay, just a character usually found in those stories, he should be open to Marvel Studios as well. Can't Marvel do a film on him thats seperate from the X-men franchise, a new take like they did with Hulk where they ignore his original appearance and start fresh?

Question, though Fox has the rights to the x-men movie franchise, does that mean they have the rights to Deadpool?

I'm glad they're going ahead with it, though I too wish that it was marvel and not fox at the helm. They can get around his sewn shut mouth easily enough, and I like some of you guys explanation for losing all the extra powers. But how do they get rid of the stupid f*cking sword arms?

I'm for it, but I would prefer the sequel over a remake. I agree with you Lone Wolf, it is a true classic. But I think that it could be cool, adding more to this rich, funny characters. Plus, another noir crime story set in that universe would be great.

so Wanted is now a franchise to be raped repeatedly for profit. The only downfall of making comics into movies, is that not all of them are gonna be about the story itself being told.

and now they want to make a sequel to it, to continue capitalizing on something that they've completely changed. I'm all for the adaptation of comics to movies, inviting new audiences to an amazing art medium usually ignored, but this is one of the instances where lack of artistic integrity has ruined something for the sake of money.

I understand that the comic was too crazy to adapt well to a movie, but they didn't even take the base storyline. The assassins weren't trying to protect the world with their killings in the book, they were supervillians fighting more ruthless supervillians. There wasn't anything noble about what they were doing. The only thing that was kept was some character names, and wes's abilities. total bastardization of a cool concept.

This could go either way. I'm a big fan of the Hal Jordan Green Lantern, though it would be cool if some of the others from Earth are in the film. Its just like Iron Man in that it lends itself to really dynamic special effects, and my worry is that they spend more time showing how cool his powers are, and less on why he's a great hero. Though the details aren't really out , its a safe bet that the villain will be Sinestro. I'm hoping for it actually, because Sinestro ties right into Hal Jordan's Green Lantern origin, so they could do both together and make a cohesive storyline.

I want to see Eric Powell's bizarro run on superman turned into an animated movie! Fat Flash was one of the funniest things in comics today!

Lol Marcus, paranoid much? I was actually talking about Newkill, but thanks for calling me an *sshole. I'm more excited about The Goon than anything, it's become my favorite current comic. I love that old timey/punk rock feel, and the dialogue is hysterical. I was hoping for a live action film with Ron Perlman playing him, but the animation looks solid. David Fincher has that dark sense of humor that will fit perfectly, and Eric Powell being highly involved means it won't lose that "knife to the eye" attitude.

This movie looks truly incredible. I think Brad Pitt is perfect in the role, he plays great smarmy characters just like George Clooney. And yeah, Mike Myers? Thats just awesome, and I'm not even a big fan of his.

I think that its his best work. I love his current Batman stuff, but its a bit too convoluted, he has soo many obscure references from old comics its hard to understand most of it. by the by, any excited about the upcoming Goon animated film?

thanks ottley, its nice to know someone else out actually has some knowledge of the actual comics, not just the movies based off them. There are some amazing X-men stories out there, and X-men:first class doesn't rank amongst them. Newkill is more concerned with the controversy, than he is with the quality of the film, so f*ck his opinion. Whether he likes the movie or not, he's gonna come on here and fight with whoever has a valid point. or Whoever doesn't have an avatar that give him a boner, its hard to tell.

so we have the usual *sshole throwing out insults and curses instead of anything anybody wants to read. Aside that idiot, some pretty valid points being made. I agree with you comrade on the tv show idea, but the fox network tried that once in the 90's with that teenage xmen show that had jubilee in it. It bombed, so I doubt we'll be seeing it. I just think they have alot more interesting characters to use , so why waste another big budget on something thats a step back. Anyone read Grant Morrisons New X-Men run? Tell me that you couldn't pull some awesome stories out of that. The mutant island Genosha being blown away by a sentinel bomb, the student uprising with that power enhancing designer drug? Anything he wrote would be cooler to watch than the original 5 practicing in the danger room.

This is why marvel needs the movie rights back. Why go back to when things weren't very exciting, when there is a wealth of characters and stories to choose from? Everyone wants the action so why not x-force? Or do the new x-men and introduce a bunch of new students. This sounds boring, and if its young characters no one will be reprising their roles.
