I would say my review best falls under category 3.
This is a review. I'm using a technique used in critical thinking called futuring. Believe it or not you can do a review of something you have yet to seen based off of factual information you have obtained... I know it's crazy huh?
Hold on, let me re-watch all the Resident Evil movies then I will tell you what will happen.
In my honest opinion the original Dawn of the Dead is more similar to Resident Evil, save for a few names, characters, and situations than this entire movie series.
Well I can understand but I believe unless the people who know the series voice their opinion no one is ever going to make a movie based off of a game right. This movie had so much potential and they could have nailed it but it seems that the making money in the short term got the best of the directors and writers. A 3/4 or 75% chance this movie will be like the last is not good odds. I will be willing to bet Alice destroys Albert Wesker, the clones revolt, etcetera. Does anyone who ever watches these movies think, "Ok if this coporation is so incredibly powerful how has it created Alice and lost to her so easily?" This basically becomes a generic action flick.
By the way, have you ever played any of the Resident Evil videogames this movie is supposedly based off of? You can watch the behind the scenes interviews and Milla is not afraid to advertise the new clothing line based off of this movie. This movie is just about making money just like the last three. No plot here folks...
Why do I need to see it? I've seen the last three... I believe movie-goers have the right to be angry when a franchise they love is stolen and turned into just another hollywood action movie.
Lonnie Q. Jones gave this a Thumbs Up

""I will maybe watch this movie while taking a fat steamy dump.""
Lonnie Q. Jones wrote a comment about the movie Resident Evil: Afterlife
This movie will suck just like all the other 'Resident Evil' movies. Even if you are arguing that this movie series is in fact to be judged as a separate spin-off of the genre you cannot argue that the terrible plot devices are anything but. Alice is a weak excuse for lack of creativity and writing on behalf of those responsible for the acting and script. She is as original as 'Foakleys'. This movie would be better if it involved a Golden Retriever named Air Bud who had superhuman powers. I will maybe watch this movie while taking a steamy fat dump on my old iPod Nano.
