Rebuttal is a great form of discourse. I will concede to your wisdom ClarkParker. I think Beast would try to debate Abe Sapien before fighting him. What do you think?

Ok, I apologized for my callous remark once. I won't do it again. Get over it.

You're right, apologies to xxbootyxx. I can be harsh sometimes. On to new things. I was watching a rerun of Frasier and thought to myself, What would David Hyde Pierce (Niles Crane) do for the role of the Riddler? He's exactly the opposite of the anal expulsive Joker. The Riddler is anal retentive and would lend a completely different atmosphere to the Batman universe and likely force Batman to become the world's greatest detective if only to solve the riddles linked to his crimes. Something to think about, although I still think Nolan should use lesser known villains instead of rehashing the same old formula. What do you all think?

Nothing personal xxbootyxx, but not everyone reads the graphic novels (is that they're calling comic books these days?) I didn't have much time to read them while I was making out with girls.

Sorry, Nolan is NOT relying on formula. Pardon my misprint please.

I have to disagree. Crispin Glover is a fine actor in his own right, but I doubt he could pull of the Joker in a way that relates to TDK. The Joker is in Arkham, leave him there. Nolan has a way of taking lesser known villains and making them relevant. I actually look forward to seeing which way the next Batman movie goes. While I would love to see a Catwoman scene reminiscant of Ocean's 12's thief dancing his way through the laser security in the museum (wouldn't that be awesome?) I like that Nolan is relying on formula and just phoning in a rehash of previous incarnations of the Batman universe.

I have nothing against Robin or Nightwing, I just think they're unnecessary in Nolan's universe. Batman's partner is Commissioner Gordon, and I think having one less unnecessary sidekick character allows the films to focus more intently on developing Batman as a character and bringing out his inner conflict.
I agree. The relationship between Batman and Commisioner Gordon should be explored further. Having Robin enter the fray would just be an unnecessary distraction. Also, we don't need another Joker movie. No sense re-hashing old material. I like the idea of the Riddler being the opposite type of antagonist for the Batman from the Joker, but let's move in a different direction. Again, no sense re-hashing old material. With that, I propose, no Riddler, no Penguin, and, as much as I hate to say it, no Catwoman either. Do something original for a change. |

There are hundreds of better actors out there that could play Thor. No need to tap middle aged wrestlers who spit water on them selves.

I like the idewa of Phillip Seymore Hoffman as the Penguin. I see him as an arms dealer cashing in on the war between the smaller mob organizations duking it out for top spot since the demise of the Falcone family.
