The following is very long, I'm aware of that so no need to bitch and moan about it, if you want to read it great if not move on.

After giving this trailer a watch a few more times I have come to the conclusion that there are far too many terrible plot points that are just too damn stupid for me to ignore and therefore is preventing me from getting even remotely excited about this film. Allow me to indulge you.

First off, this trailer actually spoils a shitload of stuff so if you were not quick enough to catch it while watching the trailer and don't want it "ruined" for you then stop reading. Again SPOILER ALERT -

We'll start with the Lawrence Fishburne's character: In the first clip you see him in you'll notice he is holding a "customized" predator helmet in his right hand (in fact it looks like the predator helmet has be taken apart and combined with the samurai helmet) and a very NON human weapon in the left. Not only that but if you look at his clothing he has what appears to be predator-ish shoulder pads above his left arm. In addition to that, on the "Fellowship of the Ring" shot where they are all walking in a single file line on the horizon, you'll notice the leader is wearing a predator helmet!
This is a huge fuckin Red Flag people! For anyone who has been keeping tabs on this film for a few months you'll remember there was a hint that the group runs into a "mystery man" who has been isolated on the planet for some time (many people suspected it would be arnold Schwarzenegger, but I guess they were wrong) So this means that Lawrence is that warrior on this "game preserve" planet and now he and his customized predator helmet, which I'm guessing he uses to hunt the predators, is going to lead the way for the other guys....LAME!!! That's about as gay as when the African American girl teamed up with the Predator in AVP and used the alien head as a shield! It just doesn't WORK!!!! The mask wouldn't work on a human for fucks sake! But that's a whole other issue.
Second they show how pretty much every person dies in this trailer. The Asian guy who is apparently Yakuza and a master with the sword ends up getting into a sword fight with a predator (you see him slashing at the predator and getting flipped into the air in an open field), which is beyond ridiculous considering the Indian guy in the first predator movie already tried that and was massacred before he could even swing!
The black guy is clearly seen getting stabbed through the chest and lifted into the air much like Dillion in the first one, except this guy is getting stabbed through the back. The girl gets caught in the net and has a look on her face that pretty much tells you she is fucked.
And the big guy with the mini-gun is crawling on the floor with a predator hot on his heels and then lifted up in the air with one hand by some kind of "horned" predator, which tells me he too is pretty much fucked.
Sure the last two can have some kind of escape, but ask yourself, if they are that close to the predators and end up escaping, are they really doing this film justice?

There is other shit that frustrates me, like the new masks, weird additions to the predators like horns, and the creatures that help the predators in their hunt (which is completely fucking contradictive to what the predators believe in anyway, but hey that what you get when you leave it to Rodriguez), but I wont even get into that part of it.

Sorry ladies but it looks like we have yet another failure on our hands.
Let me just say this, after watching that cheesy-ass clip (and the one posted on yahoo) I officially have a horrible feeling about this film. I'd be willing to bet this film will have a few awesome eye candy scenes (like the kraken and medusa fight) but aside from that it is going to be nothing but shit, so dont get your hopes up. Mark my words people.

How the hell does Louis Leterrier keep getting work? The guy fucking sucks!
First off, I really couldn't care less about this considering TF2 ruined the series for me! If Michael Bay can do a complete 180 and make this movie as good as it *could* be, then it might regain the small portion of interest that I used to have after watching the first.

Second, bhaarath, if you think that the Transformer movies are shaky then I HIGHLY suggest you never watch Green Zone or any other Paul Greengrass movie.....Ever.
I hope to god it is his next film, I have been waiting for him to start filming this since I first heard he was attached to it several YEARS ago! I am pumped to see Spielberg return to the Sci-Fi Genre and to see him tackle a topic we have never seen him do before! With him at the helm and Nolan at the core of the story this should be absolutely incredible! Cant wait!!

One more thing, does anyone else find it a little hard to believe this film takes place on an alien planet when the environment is equivalent to that of every single major forest found in South, Central or North America? I mean, come on, they couldn't have digitally added some alien brush in there somewhere? This planet just so happens to harbor pine trees, palm trees, and ferns, eh? What a coincidence!

Thats pretty weak...

I'm actually quite taken by this trailer and judging by this trailer *only* they seemed to have nailed the tone perfectly....HOWEVER, there are some major issues I already have with this film. For starters, those new masks on the predators (like the one pictured above) are GODAWFUL! Why couldn't they just have stuck with the original design of the predators and then spiced the script up? Why fix something that isn't broken? And secondly, what the fuck is up with that stupid "predator dog thing"???? Give me a freakin break! If the predators, in anyway shape or form, ride or control those things I am walking out of the theater. Period.
But besides that, this could be good or at the very least inspire a "revamped" series so we can all forget about that AVP garbage. Although, at least AVP 1 got the masks right....
I cant believe they actually cast Nicolas Cage in this movie, talk about the worst casting decision in history! I mean have you ever seen the guy run? He looks like he's got a log up his ass... uncoordinated bastard! why wouldn't they cast someone (anyone) other than him?
I've got to admit, the cinematography looks pretty damn good in this film, directing looks like it could be pretty decent and well, you've already heard what I have to say about casting.
I guess time will tell if it's any good.

Look, I dont want to sound like a jackass but I cant believe how many of you people have been fooled by this hackjob trailer! This film is going to be absolutely awful!!! Period.
"Live United or Die Divided", bahahahaha!!! Did George Lucas have a hand in this script? That is about as cheezeball as it gets! Sounds like a tagline straight off of a poster!!! Not to mention you can already tell the fight scenes (and scenes in-between for that matter) have a very Uwe Boll, amateur feel to the way they are filmed.
Although I should have seen this coming considering Neil Marshall's "The Descent" is one of the most overhyped thrillers ever made.
But dont take my word for it if you dont want to, go ahead and see it, but be prepared to be amazed by how crap this film really is. Mark my words.
By the way, I dont have anything against independent films or new talent/up and coming actors, but it is a huge red flag when you watch a trailer and cant identify a single actor aside from "isn't that the latest bond girl?" or "isn't that the dude from 300?"
Who is going to lead this film as an actor because if you ask me, 300 dude just isn't up to the task and seeing bond girl kick some ass with a sword is Keira Knightly in "King Arthur" all over again! LAME!!!
wrote a comment about the news item Could Avatar's 3D Inspire 3D Versions of Star Wars?
First off, I want to say I am not surprised by this news because Lucas's greed knows no bounds, so naturally a 3D version of the films was inevitable. Anything to keep on milking that cash cow, right George?

I'm down with 7,8 and 9, so long as George Lucas has absolutely nothing to do with production past the conceptual stage (that includes the screenplay).
Star wars would be amazing in 3D and I have always said that if they were going to continue with the franchise they should give it to J.J. Abrahms. I'm telling you, he would make the most amazing series imaginable. I mean, for fucks sake, look what he did with Star Trek (you know, that really boring series that nobody gave a shit about)
Anyways, if the existing star wars are going to get the 3D treatment, I'm cool with that, so long as there are no more "edits" like what Lucas did with the DVD release in which he absolutely ruined the end of Return of the Jedi by compositing Douche Bag Chirstensen into the finale! Anymore "brilliant" ideas like that and you can count me out.

On that topic, I say its about time we get a blu-ray release of the star wars films in there *ORIGINAL* state as release back in 77, 80 and 83.....Only much sharper.

In all seriousness, I wonder if the "2012 Panic" will do anything toward movie sales? Lets face it, there are more than enough morons out there to cause a panic over nothing (Y2K anyone?) and you can bet your ass its going to happen for 2012. If The Hobbit is released in December of 2012, I wonder if it will have a negative impact on its ticket sales due to people hiding in their basements in fear of the end of the world. I personally think it's all ridiculous and will be at the movies first chance I get but I cant vouch for all the Mayan "prophecy" fearing religious zealots of the world. I guess only time will tell.

Hey Kingbrady, did you see it on TRUE IMAX or the new half-sized IMAX screens?
wrote a comment about the news item The 3rd Avatar TV Spot Arrives
Even though the music in this particular T.V. Spot is extremely childish and gay, I have to say it's an extremely smart move on Fox's part considering the tone makes it much more appealing to younger kids and teens. Its funny how much a simple change in score brings an entirely new perspective to a film.
Either way, I'm pumped for this! I cant wait to see it on the big screen and in 3D.

This trailer is so freakin awesome! I think I've watched it about 45 times now and it still isn't getting old. Not even for a second did I doubt Cameron, nor should anyone else. Looks amazing and cant wait to see it at the midnight showing. December 18th cant come soon enough.
wrote a comment about the news item John Rhys-Davies Won't Return for The Hobbit
Damn, I would really have liked to see him make an appearance in the film. Its a perfect opportunity too considering his father and his cousin are both main characters so it would have been a great link to have Gimli in a scene or two.

@Todd89 - Yeah there are elves and quite a few at that. If you recall, when the Dwarves are passing through Mirkwood they are imprisoned by Thanduil, which is Legolas's father. Which, by the way, is also another perfect opportunity to give Legolas a few scenes as well.

I really think John-Rhys Davies should reconsider. I know he is extremely allergic to the prosthetics but there has got to be a way around that. I guess only time will tell.
wrote a comment about the news item Adrien Brody Signs on for Predators
For one of the most "badass" human killers of the Earth, I think I would have gone with someone other than Brody. The guy isn't exactly "mercenary" material if you know what I mean. The guy looks like he can barely hold a fuckin gun, let alone kick predator ass with one. He had better hit the gym ASAP and learn how to actually be tough, because that is a quality he has yet to show on screen.

But he is a pretty good actor so lets hope he can pull it off. I still worry about this film, especially after reading about those stupid fuckin "predator dogs" and "predator eagles" that were mentioned in the . Lets just hope that was a rumor.
Either way this movie just reeks failure, which is unfortunate because I really want this to be good, we are way overdue for a good predator film.
I'm going to post what I posted on another website about this same thing and that is:

I hope this series finds a new home with someone with a little more common sense, talent and taste then the people who made Salvation. I hope these new people dislike McG as much as I do and replace him with a director with an actual vision of what this series should be at this point in time.
Salvation was a disaster, plan and simple, but that doesn't mean they cant do better next time. Terminator is an extremely lucrative property and shouldn't be taken lightly, so get someone who knows what they are doing.
Just bought T2 on blu-ray a few weeks ago......amazing. Watching that opening sequence make me desperate for more post nuclear war/nuclear winter action, the way Cameron intended it to be.....not McG's watered down, damn near laughable bullshit.
It actually would be great if Cameron returned to the franchise, but I highly doubt it, my guess is that they have gone way too far off track for him to want to "repair" the damages (in my opinion).
Overall, lets just hope that T5 and T6 are a vast improvement on Salvation......can't be too hard to accomplish. I, for one, would love to see the return of Arnold and have them use the old Ian Holm/Bilbo Baggins pinning of the face trick to make him look younger. Do NOT use the Patrick Stewart/Professor X, CGI crazy method of making him look younger! AND DEFINITELY DONT bring an entirely CG Arnold back......what a joke that was.
wrote a comment about the news item Watch the A Nightmare on Elm Street Teaser Trailer!
I dont know, he just doesn't look that scary. Given that they really don't show a whole hell of a lot of what Freddy actually looks like, its hard to say for sure, but his face needs more menacing scars on it.....this reminds me of Gary Oldman in Hannibal. Not scary...
I dont know about the rest of you, but as a little kid, the only "horror character" that freaked the hell out of me out was freddy. His makeup, body language, voice and actual ways of killing people scared the shit out of me.
Also, I don't like the "twist" of him being innocent, that actually make you have sympathy for him, which ultimately leads to really weird mixed emotions toward him killing people. Assuming that is the route they are taking, I think that is a really poor decision.

All that stuff aside, I have to admit, from a guy who really doesn't like horror (at all), this film still looks like it could be decent. The visual look, at least from the trailer, looks great. I like the mood of the scene when he is coming down the hallway of what appears to be a sub-level basement of a foundation, sliding his "claws" on the pipes. Very creepy.

I guess only time will tell with this one.
