A brief comment. Mr. Page makes ridiculous claims about the film Mondovino. How is it that Mr. Nossiter 'tricked people into giving weird interviews'? The interviewees spoke their minds, and were simply not happy with their Palinesque performances. And 'a hated man in the wine world'? Please. A noisy sector of the wine world, perhaps. But to hate Mr. Nossiter is to also hate all the fine winemakers around the world who have spoken of the very real threat of globalization. And he will be moving to Portugal soon. The idea that he 'had to move to Brazil' because of this hatred makes me wonder how much of a researcher Mr. Page can be. Clearly he is no stranger to the hatchet job himself.
I encourage Mr. Page to take a look at the recently released Mondovino, the 10 part series. There he will find an enormous amount of additional material the principle's were 'tricked' into offering. In fact, Mr. Rolland, Parker, et al. are proud of their wine work. Mr. Nossiter simply chronicled their profound contempt for tradition, wine history and culture. Why blame the messenger? Unless Maynard is himself after high Parker scores.
