Nice to be "friends" . Did you get a chance to check out that trailer (SOPHOMORE) I posted? Curious what you thought.. TTYL p.s. our director ( my brother ) is a HUGE Sergio Leone fan.. ( Honestly though, how can you not be if you are a fan of movies.. )
Bigger studio could mean bigger budget, but Rodriguez is a low budget director and has always been one.
Kaya Savas wrote a comment about the news item Gary Oldman to Join Cast of Iron Man?
Gary Oldman is one of the greatest character actors working today.
My point. Most the people on this site are casual movie fans who only watch the studio pics, yet you steal them. A big studio pic costs on average $200 million. That's why the DVD costs $20. Your argument that DVD's would be double the cost without piraters is a weak one, I'm sorry. It's the opposite. Without piraters DVD's would be $10. If people all of a sudden started stealing shirts then the shirt manufacturers would drive up shirt prices cause they are losing revenue.

And independent films? I'm saying me as a filmmaker will never get work because studios will only invest in films they know will make money and someone would rather pay for a movie with big name stars rather than a no name movie. Also, I've been a projectionists for 4 years and strive on the fact that I haven't scratched a print ;).

"If Frank comes up with a great idea and draws something cool, there's no reason why we wouldn't make another movie."

Lol, Zack Snyder you are a brilliant filmmaker please tell more about what inspires you and how you craft your masterpieces.
"Kaya savas, the industry is killing US. They don't give a sh*t about fans unless it hurts their bottom line. With the flop that was Watchmen, and this debacle, I think we might be seeing the decline of the comic book film within the next ten years."

People who pirate and watch bootlegs are the reasons behind high movie prices, constant double dipping on DVD, and it also kills the independent film community. $6 Billion a year is lost to piracy, $6 BILLION! They have to account for that with all the re-issues and high ticket prices. I myself am an independent filmmaker and who the hell is gonna pay me to make some low profile film if people aren't even paying for the high profile films. In today's digital age piracy is killing the independent film community and is hurting the general movie going public.

People like PypeBomb who posted after me I guess have some mentality of "f*ck the studios, it's all corporations and business". Well, yeah, film is an industry. It's a business just like everything, and yeah they don't care about the fans. They go where the money is. It's also not a necessity; it's a luxury. If you can't afford it that doesn't make it legitimate to steal it. If the studios get hurt then so will the consumers and so will the exhibitors. It hurts every tier of the industry. As long as people like PypeBomb exist the industry will continue to be high priced for average movie goers and make the lives of people who work in the industry equally frustrating. Also, don't worry about comic book films; they aren't going anywhere. The only thing that will disappear will be independent filmmaking.
Sam Jackson is the narrator ;)
Anyone who watched the bootleg has no right to say anything even if you plan on seeing it in the theaters. The studios are worried about money but anyone who watched it is disrespecting the filmmakers. Shame on anyone who watched it and watches bootlegs in general. You are killing this industry.

Anyone know the music used in this trailer? Been scrambling trying to find it. I know Two Steps From Hell did the music for the first one, but this isn't on their site so I'm guessing they didn't do it.

I don't know the circ*mstances in term of if it was a long day or if there were problems on set before or not but Christian is right here. You never get into an actors eyeline while he's acting. The DP should have no reason to be checking lights during a scene. If you're working 18 hour days on a huge action film the stress level will be high, and while it may be an overreaction on Bale's part he's right.

I checked Shane Hurlbut's IMDb and yes this is his first huge action production. Not saying he's a bad DP, but you don't walk around during takes.
Kaya Savas wrote a comment about the news item 49 Songs Vie for 2008 Oscar
They actually implemented the "two song" rule after Dreamgirls. The reason being that the 3 songs split voters thus spreading votes between the three pretty much canceling them out and ruining any chance the movie had of getting a win for one of the songs.

That's why double nominees rarely ever win for one of the nominations. The votes get split based on personal preference.

I can't wait for that CD when does it come out?
The Academy is stupid for not allowing co-compositions. As a Zimmer maniac I've come to accept disappointment when it comes to his work's recognition. Gladiator should have won as well as The Thin Red Line.

The Academy changed the rules after the score for The Color Purple won in which six composers got Oscars for their work on the film. I just don't understand who they think they are to decide how a film should be made. Filmmaking is all about collaboration; that's how Hans learned and that's how he teaches. He's said numerous times as modest as he is that he doesn't make scores for awards, but it would be nice to see him get the recognition he deserves.

I'm hoping his score for Frost/Nixon will get him his first nomination since 2000 for Gladiator.
