Love it! Looks fantastic! Both Universal and Paramount did a GREAT job with updating their logos for their 100th anniversary. They are similar but different enough to grab your attention.....while at the same time bursting with new life! Damn I love the movies....even the intros get me excited!

Best piece of viral marketing I've ever seen! One can only imagine how the film itself will be if the marketing for it is this good!!!!

This is going to be great! I love the fact that they are filming a large majority of the film in IMAX!! I wish more directors would follow Christopher Nolan and, now, J.J. Abrams's lead with that!
Absolutely cannot wait for this one. |

@brady1138 - Ok, Luxolll ....this is an argument you need to let go because you absolutely cannot win it. Guillermo Del Toro has had at least 3 films gross over $100 million, which by ANY standards is a "commercial success".
I think you need to understand what a "big break" actually is by definition before arguing this further. A big break is when a director makes a film (any film....a feature length, short, animated, etc) that garners enough attention to get that person recognized by studios, execs and audiences.....that will ensure that person a job in the industry for years to come, as well as ensuring that person a great career of making the kinds of films that person wants to make. Guillermo Del Toro has already had a fantastic career.....by ANY standards. The guy has made several blockbusters (Yes, Blade II, Hellboy and Hellboy 2 were ALL summer blockbusters) that he really wanted to make. Plus, if a director has a fanboy following of any size, let alone a HUGE one like Guillermo has, then that person has officially "made it" big in the industry. What you are comparing his career to are the handful of directors who have films amongst the highest grossing in the world....which is completely unfair. I think I understand what you are trying to say.....but how you worded it is completely wrong. .....and just so you are aware, Guillermo *willingly* dropped out of The Hobbit....he wasn't fired or "let go". He knew that people wanted to see Peter Jackson's version (which he is absolutely right) and gladly stepped aside to let that happen. Point being, he had the job locked in and if he hadn't already "made it big" then he never would have got that job to begin with. If you dont get what I am saying at this point.....then lets just agree to disagree. |

@brady1138 - Del Toro's "big break"????
Ummm, what? Del Toro is one of Hollywood's big time directors/writers, the Go-To guy for monster films, an academy award winner, 4 time Saturn award winner AND the director of several summer blockbusters, like Blade II & Hellboy....not to mention the guy who was originally going to direct The Hobbit in place of Peter Jackson! In what way is he only now getting his "big break"??? That came in 1993 with Cronos, you goof. Anyways, this film is going to be friggin amazing!! |

What f*cktard did the subtitles for this?? He missed virtually every single line in the entire 6 minutes. Sure, there are a couple moments that are a little difficult to understand...but this guy cant understand English!!
@Dave-Mitchell - Yup, I thought that was one of the easiest to understand! He missed that one BIG TIME...that, and about a million others....haha! |

Let's just hope that he has learned from the past few distasters he's made. |

Looks ok.....doesn't look near as cheesy as the Raimi versions. There is some cool stuff in that trailer....but this film just cant compete with the other big guns...not this year, when we have SOOOO many other amazing films coming out. Therefore, I feel like this is just going to get lost in the crowd.
Overall, I'm just having a hard time getting excited about this film.....neither trailer has done really all that much to get me pumped up for this.....and I DEFINITELY did NOT get any kind of chills down my spine from this like I did with The Dark Knight Rises, Prometheus and even The Hobbit trailers. Hell, Snow White and the Huntsman has got me a hell of a lot more excited than this does! |

wrote a comment about the news item This Means War Secures PG-13 Rating
Sex *JOKES* were what got this an R-rating??? Are you kidding me??? So films like Titanic can have a tit shot and ACTUAL sex scenes that are seen through a foggy car window.....but if someone *talks* about sex, then its rated R??? Bahahaha!!! What a joke!
F*ck the MPAA......those ass-clowns haven't a clue what the hell they are doing. They need to get their priorities in check and judge a film for what it actually is and how offensive it is really going to be toward the audience members. This should have been PG-13 the whole time....even with the sex jokes (and I'm glad Titanic got that PG-13 rating, too). The MPAA needs to stop treating Americans like a bunch of children and understand that things have changed since 1922 when they were founded. People, including young kids, are accustomed to bad language, sex references, nudity and violence these days. There are very few filters on the internet that can prevent them from seeing or hearing bad things on a day to day basis....so to try and cover this kind of weak-ass sh*t with a harsh rating, is ridiculous!! Therefore, seeing how as though kids and young adults are more well informed these days....the MPAA needs to stop playing the "sheltering, over-protective parent" and judge films a little more loosely and assume that the audience is a little more mature than what they are giving them credit for. For f*cks sake, I was watching films like Terminator 2, Predator, Alien 1-3 and countless other classic R-rated films when I was 8 years old, all of which had either extreme violence or nudity in them.....and I turned out just fine. As far as I'm concerned, the only way a film should be getting an R-rating is if there are actual f*ck scenes that show bush/c*ck all over the place, people throwing around the word F*CK every two seconds (with at least a total of 10 times) and/or gory scenes that show explicit and extreme violence with blood all over the place. Stop babying the audience, MPAA! Stop treating Americans like a bunch of pussies who wont be able to sleep at night if they see a friggin boob.....or in this case (which is even worse) if someone mentions one. |

wrote a comment about the news item The Amazing Spider-Man Sneak Preview Event Happening February 6th
You know, I still stand by my original statement when I said that this movie has to have one of the WORST promotional campaigns of all time. The only pictures they have released show Peter Parker either walking around in a school or sitting in a room by himself (with maybe one pic of him in the suit, just standing there). At the same time the trailer showed little more than a high-school drama and didn't even show the title character in outfit, nor a villain.
Everything so far has been snooze worthy......therefore, if they dont pick it up, I have a feeling this film is going to get lost in the crowd of ALL the amazing films that are coming out this summer. Films that ARE doing a good job of promoting their films and getting people excited. I'm a fan of the character.....but even I could care less about this film thus far. Not even on my radar right now with things like Prometheus, The Dark Knight Rises and The Hobbit putting out one badass thing after the other!!! |

wrote a comment about the news item 84th Annual Academy Awards Nominations!
Man, f*ck the academy awards.....they always snub the films that deserve it. You are telling me that The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo and Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part II both dont deserve to get nominated for Best Picture, but films that completely underperform or are overrated, even films like Warhorse, do??
Say what you want about the Harry Potter films being nominated.....but even most critics agree that the last film in particular deserved to be nominated. While I liked Warhorse, and I friggin love Spielberg, that film, by no stretch of the imagination, lived up to the expectations I had for it. The only category that I feel it deserves to be nominated in is Cinematography, because it looked phenomenal. Therefore, in terms of Best Picture, the only film that I feel truly deserves it, that was actually nominated, is Hugo. As always, the nominations disappoint greatly. There are just too many politics involved in these awards for me to be emotionally invested in who actually wins. |

@ghostman - Well man, I hate to rain on your parade......but Cameron has made it very clear in the past that his Terminator days are over. He has openly admitted that he has zero interest in making another Terminator film, even when the right go back to him in 2018.
So unless he miraculously changes his mind......Camerons days with the franchise are over. Its a shame, too, because the direction the series has taken since Cameron's departure has been pathetic. |

by the way, I found this deleted scene from the original 1979 Alien that features the actual "sos" message from the Space Jockeys that is intercepted from Ripley and her crew.
Considering that the Space Jockeys are going to be the centerpiece of the new film......could this be a preview of what to expect, at least in terms of vocals, from the alien race?? Either way, its an interesting scene.....check it out. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n_VnoLyrfdY&list=FLzq3KDQ5_XCffrgszjBLidg&index=1&feature=plpp_video |

Ridley Scott actually filmed this in 3D with the Red Epic Cameras and the 3ality 3D camera rig, so I can guarantee it's going to look absolutely fantastic both ways.
I'll definitely see it in 2D my first time because I prefer 2D......but there is no doubt in my mind that I will return to see it in 3D for a *totally different experience.* In fact, I think this is the first true "thriller" that will be released with current 3D technology that will be *PROPERLY* made in 3D. I personally dont understand why 3D gets such a bad rap because when it is done *right* it can deliver a complete different and unique experience when comparing it to the 2D version. While I will always be a fan of 2D, and perhaps enjoy 2D a bit more, I cant deny that 3D can, on occasion, look absolutely phenomenal, as well as be a completely immersive experience. A perfect example of this, other than Avatar, is actually HUGO. That is a film that, without question, looked ten times better in 3D than it would have looked in 2D. That is a film that was MEANT to be seen in 3D. I find it hard to believe that you can expect anything less from Ridley Scott.....especially in the Sci-fi genre. Therefore, from my point of view, I dont see the problem with having 3D around as long as we will always have 2D, as well. That way we will have two ways of seeing the same film, instead of just one. @2movieguys @space101 |
