“My junk failed me...”

I've long been a fan of Boston Legal, a socially aware courtroom com-drama that wears its characters' politics on its pinstriped sleeves. Spader and Shatner are brilliant in this weekly series and the writing seldom disappoints. In this, the season opener for season 5 (and also to be the show'...

“Brilliant! Action... Intrigue... Humor... Wit... Burn Notice is, all-around, my new favorite and this is the best episode yet.”

Wow. What a "summer finale". We move, along with Michael, Fi and Sam, closer than ever to Carla and her band and are reeled-in to the web of intrigue. Carla is deeply shadowed and mysterious and Michael is a consummate pro at unwinding the web. Action, espionage tricks, spy games...and we'r...

“A slow and somewhat jerky start to what has the potential to be a great 4th season.”

While the series has the potential to get a little long in the tooth (I mean...how many times can you actually break out of prison?), the 4th season got kicked off to a decent start. For the first 40 minutes or so, the acting is only passable and our suspension of disbelief gets a real workout. ...

“To borrow from the notorious 'du gangsta'... YA, MAN!”

Michael and Sam endeavor to help Virgil recover some anit-viral medications that were stolen by some high-seas bandits, while Fiona flaunts the fact that her 'oats' are 'wild' and need to be sewn... The back-story is in full effect, here, as Michael and Fi try to figure out why Carla and her henchme...

“A fine finish to the freshman season. It is a good thing that USA doesn't have the same unreasonable expectations for a first-outing that the big 4 have...or this would be a thing of the past.”

So it appears likely that, despite a less than stellar first season, this dramedy will return for a 2nd outing on USA next summer. While acting, direction and story all had trouble during the season, the net has turned out a reasonably watchable bit of Sunday night entertainment that is fine fill...

“I know many will disagree, but this was reasonably entertaining, recorded and played-back LATE Sunday night, while drifting off to sleep...”

This is one screwed up family... You never really stop to think just how implausiable this stuff is... "Suspension of Disbelief", to be sure... Basically, as the series works to find its 'groove', we get more color on just how screwed up Mary's family really is. Brandi attempts a drug deal ...

“Burn, baby... burn.”

Michael's in a bad way, as Carla's new boy trumps his every move...forcing him into a heist. Along the way, he has time to help out a friend who's getting framed by a squirly hip-hop mogul's manager. Great action, as usual. Good story. Always good to see Gabriel Anwar. LOVE it when shit blo...

“A freshman dramedy that is still trying to find its footing...entertaining nonetheless.”

IPS tells the story of wit-sec (witness protection) agents in New Mexico. These are basically Federal Marshalls that are tasked with managing the relocation process and security for witness in the program. Mary is the main character, struggling with family drama only a trailer-park veteran could ...
