whats up, man
reviewed the movie Diary of the Dead

"Mixed reviews from many, but I still think this is a must see for "Dead" fans."
I haven't gotten to see any of the last round of Horrorfest movies. I caught all the first set in the theater the weekend they came out. That could have been one of the best times I've had in a long time. It was back to back horror movies for (2) days. A friend and traveled about 150mi. to the closest theater that was showing the festival. We rented a room and the theater we went to served beer, which made for a more pleasurable time. I didn't make it to this year's festival.

1. Brutal - haven't seen it and really don't know much about it
2. Gag - the same
3. Jennifer - I know a few people on here really enjoyed this movie. I didn't care much for it.
4. Tooth and Nail - I can't wait to see this one.
5. The Girl Next Door - Sounds interesting. I think a horror movie is even better if it is based on something real.

As for what I will be watching; I am traveling out of town this weekend to visit family. That in itself is pretty horrifying.
You didn't offend me. I have a bit of a dry sense of humor that real doesn't come across well in type, so I understand what t means to offend someone due to a post.

Anyway, I have not seen "Cannibal Holocaust" as of yet. I mostly take the high road as well with horror, although I have seen "last house on the left" and "I spit on your grave". Both were and are still considered controversial and I must say that sometimes controversy does attract my interest on occasions. Mostly because I want to see what all the fuss is about, but I don't care for senseless carnage and violence. A movie must have a point or somewhat of a story.

As far as my favorite movies, that is a tough question. I would say out of my top five, all are my favorite for one reason or another.
1. Night of the living Dead (1968)....I believe this movie changed horror and allowed it to evolve into what horror is today.
2. Texas Chainsaw Massacre (orig)....I still feel pain when I see him hang the chick on the hook.
3. Phantasm....I think this movie has one of the most original stories
4. Poltergeist....This could be the greatest ghost flick ever
5. The Abominal Dr. Phibes....This movie has an original story and is classic Vincent Price
6. The last 10 minutes of the Blair Witch Project....As weird as that statement is, I think the last 10-15 minutes of this rancid movie could be one of the most frightening moments in modern horror. The rest of the movie was awful.
I agree with you on "I am Legend", it turned out to be alot better than what I anticipated. I really put off watching the movie because of the "I-Robot" type of computer graphic "zombie" creatures; however, Will Smith is superb and kind of helps you forgive the visual downfalls. From what I have read online, the book that spawned the movie is considered to be one of the first "zombie" stories. That made watching the movie kind of a must for me (as I am a lover of the zombie). Wow, that last statement sounded a little weird. Thanks for the welcome and I agree that this sounds like a site with several people with the same interests, which should make visiting very enjoyable.

Benjamin1, before the controversy goes spiraling out of control and the photographers show up on my lawn to take photos of my every move; unlike Pat from "Saturday Night Live", I am definitely a guy. Ha.
reviewed the movie Evil Dead 2: Dead by Dawn

"Not a sequel; This movie has legs and stands on them with ease."
reviewed the movie Dead Silence

"Tripe on strings."
I'm new here, but not new to horror. I figured I would toss in my two cents to this conversation. To be honest, I am not much of a Frankenstein fan. I am not saying that I didn't understand the Doc's obsession or the Monster's child-like fear/understanding of (re-animated) life; I did. I would see another remake in hopes of a great take on the original literature, but I've been fairly disappointed thus far.

Now, as far as what I saw this week. I finally got around to watching Saw IV. I was kind of holding out after my disappointment of SawIII. I was pleased to see that 4 was a bit better, but I just don't think the series will ever top the originality of the first one. Regardless, good or bad I love me some horror.
