Boogie Town Synopsis:
Boogie Town is a modern day version on Westside Story, meets Romeo & Juliet, with incredible dance battling along the lines of the hit dance movie "You Got Served", making this movie a visual masterpiece. Boogie Town will have the dark, gloomy, surreal look of "Underworld/Matrix". The movie will take place in New York City, in the year 2015, where there is no violence, and Battle dancing has become very popular underground. This is a story of 2 rival crews. One of the crews "The Trojans" (American Crew) is lead by Micah (Marques Houston) and the other crew "The Warriors" (Filipino Crew) is lead by Jay. These two guys (Micah & Jay) were both born HERCULEAN. This power or gift they were born with gives them both the ability to leap long distances and always land on their feet similar to Vampire's. Think Blade/Underworld. They also have the power to control "ENERGY". This ENERGY is similar to the "The Force" in Star Wars. This all began Decades ago when a Scientist named Dr. Wilikutty created a gene called HC7 (Herculean). The gene was created to give the soldiers in World War II a boost of Adrenaline that would make them like Super Human Soldiers. The only problem was once their adrenaline came down they would die. Dr. Wilikutty was relieved from his duties as a Scientist. He went home and tested a new form of the gene on himself. This time it worked, but there was another flaw. The gene could only live to be a certain age. Once the gene would die, the body would. So again Dr. Wilikutty needed to enhance the gene. Micah and Jay are the product of the enhanced gene.
Jay is an extremely jealous guy with an evil heart. His whole purpose in life is to defeat Micah. Micah on the other hand is a thrill seeker. He's a good guy and only wants to have fun. Micah and Jay's rivalry started as a friendship that somewhere down the line took a wrong turn.
Now in the city of New York, Battle Dancing is permanently banned because of a 12-year-old boy who was murdered during a Dance Battle in 2009 when Battle Dancing was at its Height. That 12-year-old boy was Chief Salisbury's (Chief of Police) son. Ever since then, with help from a secret Government Agency called the SG7, Chief Sal has made it his own personal mission to put an end to Battling, PERMENANTLY. Chief Sal along with the SG7 created a Special Unit in the Police department called the "BOOGIE POLICE". The Boogie Police are a unit that are specially trained to track down and capture anyone who's caught dance battling anywhere in NY. They are lead by Chief Sal's understudy Captain Sam (Captain of the Boogie Police). The SG7 is after Micah and Jay because they want to use their blood to create Super Soldiers for an upcoming War (World War III). In order to guarantee victory, they need these special Herculean Soldiers. The SG7 cannot reveal their secret identity so they are using Chief Sal because of his natural grown hate towards Micah and Jay to help them bring them in. The relationship between the SG7 and Chief Sal is like a scratch my back I'll scratch yours type deal. They helped Chief Sal ban Dance Battling. In return Chief Sal is to hand over Micah and Jay to the SG7.
Because dance battling is banned now, all dance battling is done in a special Underground place created by the Trojans called "BOOGIE TOWN". Boogie Town is an old abandoned/underground Subway station, underneath the Forgotten City of making it almost impossible for Chief Sal and his Boogie Police to catch them. To make it easier to find Micah and Jay, the SG7 created a satellite that is able to trace Micah and Jay's "ENERGY." Whenever Micah or Jay use this ENERGY, their eyes turn grey and it sets off the Satellite signal. So because Chief Sal and his team are able to trace the ENERGY, Micah and Jay are very careful not to use the ENERGY in Boogie Town in fear that the only last place to battle will be shut down like the rest of New York.
Now even though both crews are rivals from opposite sides of the railroad tracks, they both have a mutual hang out spot called "THE ROCKS". Both crews go there to hang out, dance, have drinks and chill etc.
The movie opens with an extreme battle between the 2 crews. Nobody wins because Jay decides to use his ENERGY, which sets off the Satellite signal. Sounds of sirens approach fast. The Trojans and Warriors all retreat before the Boogie Police can find Boogie Town. The Warriors make a clean getaway on the city streets above Boogie Town, but the Trojans aren't so lucky. This begins a major chase scene between the Boogie Police and Micah, similar to the opening chase scene in "The Matrix".
There is a respectful rival between the 2 crews until Jay's younger sister Natalie comes to town for her College summer break. Micah not knowing who she is meets Natalie at the Rocks. They have an instant connection with each other. Soon they fall in love. Once Jay finds out that his baby sister is in love with his arch enemy, He explodes with anger. Jay forbids Natalie to see Micah. He tells her that Micah was aware that she was his sister and that's the only reason he decided to go after Natalie, and that Micah is just using her to get to him. At first Natalie listens to her brother's advice even though she really wants Micah. Eventually Natalie gives in to Micah's persistence, goes against her brother's wishes, and continues to see Micah. Natalie explains to Micah that she knows he is a Herculean and tells him to go see a man named GENESIS, and that he will answer all his questions. Micah takes the number and goes to see him. He gets no answers. Instead Genesis tells him that he is not ready yet and that when he is, he will see him then. The respectful rivalry between the 2 crews, goes past just Battling, and becomes a dangerous WAR!
Suddenly there is a huge announcement in all of New York City. Boogie Town has been found and SHUT DOWN!!! Micah, and both crews are trying to figure how they will ever be able to see whose best, because they cannot battle anymore. Jay is more concerned about Micah and his baby sister, and is speaking of maybe even killing somebody. Both leaders, Micah and Jay decide on a Once And For All, Winner take all battle to see who the best crew really is. They agree to meet at an old broken down restaurant in The Lost City called "The Smokey Joe Café". Inside Smokey Joe's, Jay and Micah hate each other more and more each moment. A fight almost breaks out, but is stopped by both crews. Both crews agree to hold the last battle at a new underground spot on the other side of town called "ILLUSIONS". The winner takes all. The crews exit. Micah fears deep down inside that Jay may be up to something different other than just a Dance Battle. That night Micah and Natalie make love for the first time. She gives him some good advice before he leaves. Micah knows what he has to do.
We cut to the Illusions where the Major Battle begins. The Warrior's and The Trojans face each other as the Battle begins. The competition is stiff. The crews are dead even. Shady, one of the Trojans starts a fight. The fight breaks out and it is fierce. Jay and Micah use the energy and that sets off the Boogie Police. Soon the sirens are heard approaching and you know what that means. Everyone escapes. Micah sneaks back to Natalie's house. As Micah is approaching he is met by a couple of Warriors. They attack him. He is battered and beaten. Boogie Police show up just in time. Micah takes off in one direction while the Warriors head in the other. Next day Micah decides to meet Natalie at Smokey Joes to break up with her. He tries to explain that as long as they are together, they will both be hated by Jay. He also explains that this was the best way for both of them. Micah's crew pulls up. Jay and his crew pull up. Micah and Natalie embrace for the last time. Natalie begins to walk away when suddenly she spot's her brother walking up. She get's about a couple feet away from Micah when she sees Jay pull out the gun and aims it at Micah. Slow Motion shot of Natalie jumping in front of Micah as Jay pulls the trigger. The bullet catches Natalie right in the chest. Natalie hits the ground. Everyone is in shock, including Jay. Jay stands in shock as Micah drops to the floor to try to save her. It's too late. Natalie dies in Micah's arms. Micah picks up the gun and points it directly at Jay's head. Jay is so in shock that he's murdered his own sister that he can't move. A tear drops from Jay's eye. Micah can't pull the trigger. Instead he points the gun to the left and empties the clip. The Boogie Police try to capture Jay but he gets away. Micah retreats as well.
The next night Micah goes to see Genesis. Genesis explains that Micah is now ready. He also explains how the SG7 is after him and Jay's blood to create the Super Human Soldiers for the War coming up. He tells Micah that he can either help the government kill millions and become a product of War, or he can choose not to and help the greater good of mankind. Micah doesn't want to be involved in helping with the death of millions. Genesis also tells him about how the Herculean gene was created and how it got to this point. To Micah's surprise, Genesis is also a Herculean. Genesis helps Micah to find his inner ENERGY and teaches him how to control it.
After that, this is exactly what Micah needs to face Jay. Micah and Jay battle one on one. Micah receives his special power and defeats Jay by a landslide with a powerful move that sends a shockwave throughout the entire city of Boogie Town, breaking all the glass on the cars and windows.
In the end, no one is a winner because with death, everybody looses. Micah realizes how to use his power and what it is to be used for, Good, not Evil.
