I loved this movie, but unfortunately had to sit up front due to the HUGE crowd it brought in, so my neck was killing me. I love this style of animation/filming, though, and the story is really neat as well. Richard Linklater is amazing!!
I also heard the book is just as good, if not better, SO it is on my list of 'to reads.'

I read the book first.
The movie- what a let down.
I honestly thought it was such a terrible way to introduce the story to an audience who had or hadn't ever heard of it. I thought the character selection was awful.
The book is very detailed, so it helps the content translate sufficiently. The movie was not. It went too fast, had such a wimpy Silas and everything was horrible.
About the only good cast made in that film was Jean Reno- and I think he is good in just about everything I have seen him in.
I think it is really sad how 'blockbusters' focus on obtaining well-known actors, and end up lacking in the story/overall appearance of the film.
I thought this was such a shame, and I DO recommend reading the book, no matter what your faith. Fiction is fiction, people.

I watched both ST in one night last year and I really liked the first one.
Both in one sitting was extreme, and I remember being disappointed in the second one. Although, I will probably see the third for old time's sake!
Speaking of loooong ago...
I just re-watched cloak and dagger.
Now THAT is crazy old.
But, you can't beat that kid from ET and Atari games!
yesssssssssssss.
