Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone the book was released on 30 June 1997 (UK) but i live in the USA where it was released on 1 September 1998 (US).

I think these prizes should be mine because I am obsessed with and love Harry Potter. I was only 4 years old in 1998 when Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone (the book) was released and my aunt bought my older sister the first book. As I watched my sister read these stories I always admired them and thought they were so cool but never actually read them myself. At 7 years old, the Sorcerer's Stone was released as a movie and my family was the first ones at Movie Theater that weekend. I loved Harry Potter ever since and followed his journey at Hogwarts on the big screen but never actually read the books until years later. I always wanted to be surprised at the midnight showing when I didn't know what will happen to Harry, Ron, and Hermione. At 13, I waited up till midnight to get Harry potter and the Deathly Hallows (the book) and didn't even read it then but it completed my collection. July 15, 2009 I saw Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince and I needed to know what happened next so as soon as I got home I opened the Sorcerer's Stone and finished the book by the next morning. Few months later I finished the deathly hallows and the Harry Potter series. I cannot wait to see the movies that complete this epic saga. I have grown up with the love of Harry Potter and as he grew up I was with him to the end!
