If it can not compete in June, or July, then bump it to August or September. The end of the summer movie season. To push it back a whole year, and say its for 3D, it bull. If your going to push the movie back that far, how about pulling all the toys and other merchandise off of the store shelves until the movie is going to be released?

They may have single handedly killed their own summer movie revenue with a decision to try to convert to 3D. If it was a month or two, be one thin. But almost a full year? Stupid move which may cost some CEO's their jobs, as well as others.

This version actually sounds better then the two that just came out... But killing a rehashing of the same idea is a great idea in the current play of reboots and remakes. But John Carter was a good movie. Anyone who doesn't think so, should take a moment to question their own opinions more realistically. Was it Star Wars? No. Was it Lord of the Rings? No. But it was a really good movie for what it was. A action adventure movie. We should take a step back and remember the realism we felt as young kids or around 10, when we watched a movie like John Carter, and try to watch it with those same eyes. I hope everyone thinks this way on movie's even if you don't like John Carter much. But consider re-watching it with that in mind when it is released in DVD.

I could see this, but my opinion is, if your going to reboot this film, why not use a Scottsman? Some one like Gerard Butler?

@themoviefanatic Well to a point. Considering how much special effects have come since then, I think it will be way better look and feel. But the real question is how will they do insect interaction in the story. Will it involve a ant farm, or wild adventure into a real insect hive. Could have a whole intro movie based on his discovery of shrinking and insect communication with little need of a villain. Cheesy does come to mind when I first thought about this movie. But with the special effects of today, it could work. Think Avatar meets Shrunk movies.

At first, I did not think this character could be a solo act on the big screen. But, the more I think on it; I feel it will be a great movie. Would be like Honey I Shrunk the kids movies with a super hero twist. I find myself actually getting excited for the possibilities for the film.

@2movieguys I kinda agree on the who Hawkeye thing. He played second fiddle in the story all the way until the finial battle when he showed how much he could carry a major fight too. He should have had dialogue like Spiderman, cause his one line zingers are thought to be similar. Bad ass assassin he is, but a smart ass with a humor side.
Hulk's comedic side made so much for this movie. Like so many said, when he did something funny, people laughed in the theater making it hard to hear the next 3-4 seconds of the movie. I saw the mid-credits thing. Where the one guy speaks to the leader who is,,,,, you know who... >:) No spoiling this one. But if there was more, I missed it. Might see it again, since it was so good, but do not know when. |

@narrator Can't say it better...
I enjoyed both films. TIH was a continuation of HULK, with out acknowledged nor saying stuff about the HULK. Think about it. HULK ended with him in South America. TIH starts with him in South America. But I do not see them making a Hulk movie to appeal to the broad audience. HULK and TIH showed that. Well, atleast with that kind of PG writing. Whedon may do it justice, but he will be to busy no doubt for Avengers 2:Thanos's War.... >:) |

@ejk1 @superman81 TIH was not a reboot by the actual meaning. It was a conditioned story of The HULK with out directly admitting nor 100% acknowledged the HULK. Proof is the ending of HULK and the start of TIH. Ends with him in South America, starts with him in South America. Doing different things, but still.
@narrator I agree. Only thing for me was one sided on story at all, was Iron Mans flight with the rocket. Like he was the loan savior. But the way the entire battle went up till then, makes up for anything a bit one sided. I can understand peoples thoughts on a one sided movie. X-Men did it with Wolverine. He was my favorite character, but all three was way based on him to much. Avengers was right on topic for me. Multi Hero's brought together for a team, and ego's and other issues interfere. I, understand the need for the reason to be brought together, but I disliked what had to be used. Favorite two moments was a humor thing by Hulk. The hit on Thor with a giggle, and then the ending roar scare on IM. So for me Whedon hit it on the head. I just know they will do a Hulk movie now, but even though I enjoyed HULK and TIH, I do not think they can make a Hulk movie to make the broad audience happy. |

@cyn-de-harven Did we even see the same movie? Each character was masterfully woven into a full team movie. Parts was given to each character to make the movie. Only so called "Iron Man" focus was the end with the gate. The entire man fight ending was flashing between each and every member of the team. You had spreads with just Captain America, then Widow, ect. When the science part of the movie was being done, it was both Banner and Stark. @thedude-abides I agree on the Ruffalo thing. He was good, better then I thought. But the meek and weak Bruce act was a bit off. I think his Hulk was great. The Humor was a nice touch. A soft side to the beast so to speak.

wrote a comment about the news item Rambo 5 Will Go Out in a Blaze of Glory Says Sylvester Stallone
I grew up loving Rambo. He is a straight forward character. A bad ass soldier. He still can get shot, hurt, captured, beaten, and even man handled. But in the end, he finds away to ignore the pain and do what is needed to finish the mission. A realistic bad ass soldier. But with issues. I thought Rambo 4 was enough to end the story though. I will watch anything new with Rambo, but I do not see the need to kill him. Rambo came to terms with he is who he is. A killing machine. A soldier who has not problem doing what is needed to finish the mission. That feeling of self worth combine with guilt of who he is, kept him from going home. First Blood, showed him always on the move since he got state side, looking up war friends, walking. Anything to stay away from home. That built up to the outcome with him at war with the local sheriff and ending up in prison. The novel actually had Rambo killed. With him living extended the story. Gave him the ability to grow and come full circle. Only left prison in the second film, cause it was to go back into Vietnam for POW's. After that movie, he wondered Thailand trying to find peace. Still finding fights, like the stick fight for money in Rambo 3, but living mostly a peaceful life, but still trying to avoid his past. That ended with him realizing he was a killing machine. But needed a good cause. But in Rambo, he was just like in 3, living a life but not being himself. He unleashed who was was for a good cause and saved some people. But in the end, knew he could not run from his past, but accept it. That meant returning home to face who he was, with who he is. And knowing he had a home to be safe, and not need to be the soldier within. But able to release it if needed. I thing a Rambo 5 would be a great story in, hoe does he handle being the killing machine at peace. And how does he know if a cause is worthy of unleashing the "beast" within. But I do not think he has to die to say the only way to escape who you are is to die. Rather see it end with him returning to the Army as a "Rambo" soldier trainer. Sounds like a better ending to a story, and a way to show full circle. If you can not change who you are by acting or ironing it. You end up making others around you just like you. The whole idea "Violence breeds Violence." He is what he is, so he makes it around him. If not in the act of war, training those for it. Sorry for the long rambling, but just hit a nerve for some reason. :)

@XxNickTheFilmCriticXx I Guess I am lucky in prices. But still cost 40 bucks, including snacks, when my wife and I took our two kids to see the Lorax. I have three drive-in theaters close by. Two has two screens, showing up to four movies, and one just one showing two for same amount per person as the theater for one. So prices I am doing way better the most other places.

@2movieguys That pic is not of Depp. Its the painting he is talking about in the story.
But I think Tonto was more a assistant or side kick, then the hero of the story. Yes he is more then able to do things, maybe more so in some situations the the Lone Ranger. But the story is "The Lone Ranger", not "The Tonto Story". My only concern is they went that path due to Depp being Tonto more then they should have. |

@daveactor7 Your might be right about the story. I just can't find anything about the alien race Chitauris in my Marvel directory. Either a new race or something created special for the movie with the Kree and Skrulls being tied up in movie rights. I have heard Thanos and the infinity gauntlet was part of it to be a sequel.

Just though of something while watching Avengers cartoon. Maybe Loki has brought Kang and his future tech to earth? Story line on the show is Kang goes back in time to conquer earth over a time shift. So this might be the reason the Kree or Skrulls are not the named races.

Well if this is the "end" for these character mixes, does that mean Will Smith too will be replace in the event of a "reboot" as he said? Or could this just mean the end of Agent K, retirement for good or sacrifices to save the galaxy? Will and Tommy are the ones who made these movies, but the real question is, if there could be more like he said, and this is the end for them in the roles, where does it go? Very interested in seeing this movie to be able to guess whats next for sure.
