@gallagher No worries, man. I had asked a few of the other writers the same question and got the shaft from everyone, so I figured I was just being ignored. Sorry for being short with you.

I just happen to know quite a bit of newsworthy movie information that doesn't normally get reported around here that I thought might strengthen up the overall integrity of the site. The details surrounding the delay of P.T. Anderson's The Master, for instance. Or Daniel Day-Lewis hooking up with Martin Scorsese once again for the upcoming movie, Silence. Neither of which, I believe, have been reported on movieweb.

I was just looking for a medium in which I could bring some of those lesser talked about elements to the forefront. Again, sorry for the mix up. Feel free to use either of those stories I mentioned earlier if you feel they are newsworthy. Perhaps in the meantime I can bring you any news that hasn't broke yet on this site and you can report them if you deem worthy. Just a friendly propostion.

@thedude-abides Sorry man. Been very busy over here. As far as writing for the site, your best bet is to start/keep writing reviews. I wrote for free here, doing reviews and a weekly column for awhile, for over four years before I was brought on full-time. I'm not sure what you're looking for, but yes, there is a ton that goes into my job.

@gallagher How would I go about writing for this site? I know a lot more goes in to your job than just reporting movie news, but I'm a writer myself and I feel I can provide a unique perspective to the site. Thanks for any insight you can provide.

I write for MovieWeb full-time and I'll get DVD's for interviews or review purposes. If I kept EVERYTHING they sent me, my collection would be much bigger, but I only keep the stuff I like and will watch again.

@gallagher Yeah, I only know of one. It belongs to a friend of mine and it's approaching 1000. Yours is higher quality, though. U don't have any holes. How r u able to get movies for free?

Thanks @thedude-abides It didn't get this large overnight:) Been collecting DVD's for 10 years now. It helps that I get a lot for free, though:) Still, I've seen many others that are way bigger than mine.

@dan1 Thanks man. Well, most of it is alphabetical.... When we first launched this feature a few years ago, they had a feature where you could upload your list from DVD Aficianado, and those are all alphabetical. So, the first 500 or so are alphabetical, and then when I add new ones, it just tacks them onto the end. I'm not sure if there's a way where I can sort them all as alphabetical.
