Ok Visionary, you're missing my point..I use..and I stress..use to, go to the Cinema to be taken to another world so to speak. Now all I see are movies that look like an XBox or a PS3 game. CGI,apart from looking crap has actually gotten worse as studios are trying to make movies as cheaply as possible. Did you ever see The Original Star Wars Trilogy, Robocop, Predator, The Thing, Aliens Etc? Imagine how sh*t they would look if completely remade today? They had real craft that I mentioned before and they
created other worlds ( Without, wait for it, CGI! ) through 'real' and quality effects that are now dormant because they take up to much time and money, now we're left with computer sh*t.
This name calling is childish, we are not going to agree, you have your opinion and I mine. I don't agree with you and vice versa..we probably would not get on in the 'real' world either! All I'll say is I'd love to see things on the big screen that you can't see in life, you and most people are satisfied with something some fat 'dude' generated at a PC, to me it looks cheap and tacky. Oli, he can take all the time he wants, special FX aren't 'special' anymore, they're computer FX and they look so cheap, obvious and lifeless...every 'escapist' movie now looks the same. Peter Jackson and Lucas really messed up modern cinema, where is the magic and hands on creativity? I'll say it again, f*ck off Cameron and join the 'lets not get our hands dirty' world of 'cheap' modern movie making. That's why CGI is used for everything instead of just a worthy tool that should have been used sparingly.

Hi 'Visionary', firstly, go and take a basic course in grammar. So everything in the future is CGI, we're all going to be computerised and live in a virtual world? T3 used CGI appropriately but also had some of the most amazing stunts and set pieces of recent years...which wouldn't be hard. 3D CGI? So what? It will still look flat, cheap and actually 1D like all movies nowadays. Another boring soulless video game! Movies like Aliens & T2 will never be beaten cuz they used real FX - real and untouched backgrounds, animatronics, creative set pieces that where made by hand, real stuntwork Etc Etc...and only minimal CGI in T2...and it all looked brilliant. F*ck off Cameron, you've just become another Lucas, Spielberg and lazy director like all the rest nowadays who do everything with computers. And that is so sad.
