OK, so I did a little research on strobe lights and seizures. According to eHow.com, about 1 out of 20 with epilepsy are prone to strobe-light induced seizures because "People with photosensitive epilepsy have ultra sensitive visual cortices that become overwhelmed by strobe lights. Neurons in the brain go haywire, affecting other parts of the brain and triggering an epileptic seizure."
So if any of these guys have a history of epilepsy or are prone to epilepsy, and the scene's strobbing effects is intense enough, there's the likely explanation.

Looks great, but the one thing I'm worried about is the humor. This is only the first trailer, and I think the first thing the filmmakers wanted to establish is how much darker and grittier the new series will be, which would explain the lack of humor in the trailer. But I hope that in the final movie Spidey/Peter Parker is funy and smart-mouthed like he is in the comics.

This movie is looking less and less as I thought it would, but I'm liking it more and more for it.

It looks like Batman's dream is collapsing!

Fillion would be great choice for Drake, even if he's on the older side. Even if we don't get Fillion, there are plenty of actors out there who could play Drake better than Walhberg.

@ SpaceCowboy , I'm sure Pixar will get around to Newt in a few years.

So basically, the Muppets hijack a generic romantic comedy? That's awesome.

Wow, it's finally happening.

@ ghostman and don't forget Predator. Technically they also count as aliens, but still.
@ shnoopbop , I wouldn't mind seeing a Valley of Gwangi remake/reboot/sequel, so thumbs up on that idea.

It's funny how aliens never, ever, ever win, no matter how overpowered they are. There's always that one mistake or that one weakness that's an instant win bottom for the humans regardless of how grim the outlook is.
I wonder if the raptors will think up something clever against the aliens. Maybe the movie will end in a draw, with both the aliens and dinosaurs will wipe eachother out, explaining the mass extinction 65 million years ago.

If Hollywood is going on a *insert noun* Vs. Dinosaurs binge, then what's next? Cowboys, now Dinosaurs, so how about this line up:
-Ninjas
-Zombies
-Robots
-Wizards
-Vampires
-Vikings
So who should be next to clash with Aliens?

The adult in me just rolled his eyes and dismissed this movie.
But my inner 6-year-old just wet his pants in excitement.
The whole idea is just so stupid that it's awesome.

I still doubt the Larazus Pit is going to be in this movie. More likely the green screen is standing in for a bottomless pit or an entrance to a cave, mine, bunker or something like that. And if it was the Lazarus Pit, Nolan would probably do it with practical effects rather than CGI, being how Nolan loves him some practical effects and todays technology would make it easy to create a bubbling, mystical water pit.

Couldn't care less about this movie a few weeks ago, but I'm starting to like what I see. Fingers crossed.
And on another note, I wonder if this movie being successful could help get Deadpool shooting by next year, with RR possibly being in higher demand if Green Lantern is a hit.

|
|
Another argument against this being the Lazarus Pit is the green screen. As much trouble as Nolan goes through to use practical special effects and stunts whenever possible, I doubt that he would go CGI for a small body of water, mystical or otherwise.

The Lazarus Pit just doesn't seem like Nolan material to me. It certainly looks like the Lazarus Pit, but it could be anything really. Shooting in India is only supposed to last a two days or so, and word has it that Bale isn't even going to be in India. I'm thinking that maybe the picture is showing a set meant to be the outside of some lair, and the hole is going to be the entrance to the base (with footage from an indoor set replacing the green screen in the hole). But at this point, my guess is as good as any.

What are the chances that we may get a good video game movie, finally.
