Best Movie of 2012 (Top 10)

Best Movie of 2012 (Top 10)

While 2012 has been a fantastic year in the art of cinema, brilliant movies have come and gone, while there have been quite the awful films as well. Out of the hundreds of movies I have had the pleasure of seeing this year. Only 10 made the cut, for THE BEST OF 2012. I always love this time of the year, because I get to express my devoted love to this great movies and letting everyone know why they are so great. So sit back and relax and let me know what you think. 10. Jeff Who Lives at Home This independent comedy from the talented minds of the Duplass brothers was funny and extremely heartfelt and no question earned its spot on my list. With eye-turning performances from Jason Siegel and Ed Helms, I really enjoyed this light beat and quirky comedy filled with heart and humor. 9. Wreck It-Ralph The best animated film of 2012, what can I say? It brought back a lot of good childhood memories of when I was a kid, probably for the adults to. It was smarter and just more entertaining than all the other animated movies that were thrown at us this year (Exception: Paranorman). Wreck It-Ralph is that rare non-pixar film that makes my list. 8. Ted The comedy of the year! Hands down. While some audience members or people alike may have been turned off by the films overall crude humor or they took "who wants to watch a talking teddy bear" approach. I absolutely loved this movie from start to finish. Seth MacFarlane's directorial debut truly had me in tears. 7. Savages Oliver Stone's return to his "Natural Born Killers"-esq persona is a blast. I must admit I did not have high expectations for this movie going in, well needless to say I was baffled when I left the theater in complete shock. If you have yet to see this gritty action thriller, you may want to do so right away. 6. Prometheus Ridley Scott and company have once again set a whole new bar for the sci-fi genre. Prometheus was so thought provoking, so eye opening. With outstanding performances from Michael Fassbender and Naomi Roopace. Ridley Scott has crafted quite possible one of the best sci-fi films of this century. 5. The Cabin In The Woods A horror movie that makes you think?, that is simply a sentence that is not used quite hat often. As a devoted horror fan, The Cabin In The Woods has breathed new life into a dieing genre. Twists and turns at every possible corner, from which you don't see coming and an ending you have to see to believe. From the creative minds of Joss Wheadon and Drew Goddard, this horror spectacle gives fans something to wince about. 4. Life Of Pi Ang Lee's soon to be award winning masterpiece is surreal and visual jaw-dropping. To say its this year's "Avatar" is an understatement we can all take note and learn from this movie. Its been quite a long time since i walked away from a movie feeling that much depth and emotion. I honestly can say walking away from this movie i feel like a better and changed human being. 3. Django Unchained. Quentin Tarantino is one of the best directors of our time, he has such a style when he shoots and makes his movies, he makes them with perfection and never lets down his audience. Filled with outstanding performances especially from Leonardo DiCaprio. Django Unchained was the last movie I have seen in 2012, it should say something that it is #3 on my list. 2. Argo Ben Affleck has truly made a name for himself in this industry. From being a punch line in Hollywood with such films like "Gigli & Surviving Christmas" Affleck's career was in question, but now after three straight hits. He is top notch in my book. Bringing to life one of the most exciting and edge of your seat thriller I have seen this year. it's a must see and if you have not heard Argo could win best picture. 1. The Dark Knight Rises All of 2012 has said one thing to me, all hail the Batman. Christopher Nolan's stunning conclusion to his pitch perfect trilogy was breathtaking and surreal. It featured one of the best villains of the decade Bane, played so outstanding by Tom Hardy. Dark Knight Rises taught us all the value of being brave and courageous. While at the same time giving us the Batman we all needed. Chris Nolan should be proud of what he has accomplished, i know i am.
