I might as well be the first to say it...the book isn't called "The Sea Monsters". It's called "The Sea of Monsters". If Chris Columbus, the guy who slaughtered the first book into nothing, has anything to do with this film, it will be an attrocity. However, the new director gives me hope. Especially since the 2nd book was better than the original.

Wasn't this the plot of "The Freshman" back in the 80s?

Couldn't Miyazaki have write a sequel to one of his films that was actually watchable? Like "Spirited Away" or "Howl's Moving Castle"?

Will I see this movie again? No. The only thing this movie pioneered is awesome special effects and extraordinarily horrid writing. Why such a small population of movie-goers can see beyond the glitter and see this film for what it truly is escapes my comprehension. It shouldn't matter how visually stunning the movie is, or if it's in 2D or 3D. If the story is lacking, the acting is horrible, and, worse yet, makes our troops look like blood-thirsty savages, it's not a good movie. It's a travesty captured on film.

This is the reason, I don't watch these awards anymore. Twilight is NOT, by far, the best movie out there. I'm beginning to think the voting system MTV has is rigged.

Perhaps Overture and Hardwicke forgot that "Hamlet" was modernized back in 2000 when Ethan Hawke played Hamlet...who just graduated from film school...

2 years passed, and they're ALREADY remaking this film? When is someone going to finally speak up and demand ORIGINAL ideas again?

If they're so desperate and willing to make any third-rate comic strip like "Marmaduke", it only begs the question...when the hell are they going to do an adaptation of "Calvin and Hobbes"? Wouldn't that sell more tickets in the long run?

It's really sad that this film wasn't given much of a chance in theaters. A theatrical release of less than 100 theaters is pitiful, seeing how the buzz on this film was through the roof. Hopefully, it'll have a good life on DVD.

Knowing that Smith has said he will never direct a movie he did not write himself, I'm not certain as to how real this story is.

Okay, now it's time to say it: Hollywood has officially run out of originally ideas.

So...is this a remake of the 1985 or a brand new film based on the game? I'm hoping it's not a remake. The original is too good to be remade.

As long as it's better than "Vicky Cristina Barcelona", I don't care what it's about. I love Allen's work, and I'm excited to see any new project of his.

How Uwe Boll didn't win for Worst On-screen couple with his camera and scripts is beyond me. Oh well. Better luck next year.
