hey, piers, interesting watching you ditch kevin skinner......
not one word in his praise in this interview - not one, yet you all go on and on about barbara - the show failed to show kevin as a rock singer, song writer, didn't showcase his guitar work, and we don't know that he is a family man, staying in dublin, ky, working as farm labor, rather than uprooting his children and moving to nashville.... bah! not nearly as glam as padilla's story?
frankly, i'm hoping skinner trounces padilla, who allowed her story to be used to sway audiences, and who isn't metropolitan opera worthy, perhaps regional opera worthy.... and has not had to endure terrible backing tracks so insensitive to the genre and gift as to destroy skinner's very special one man one guitar high lonesome sound
note to nigel wright, plz cross back over the pond when you are offered another country musician to sacrifice - stick to big musicals, get someone in who knows country should you ever have another country artist on the show - the backing tracks were AWFUL skinner is not phantom of the opera, nor a boy soprano choirboy.... and you didn't get it.... the tracks took away the sound that drew people to him.
