The big question is whether Elizabeth will be allowed to ask Obama any tough questions or Barbara & Bill declare it be another love fest so he can be fawned over. Something tells me if Elizabeth tried to ask anything the other three will shout her down, just as they have done for the past few weeks.

I feel sorry for the people who can not sit back and just enjoy a movie for what it is...entertainment. Those that panned the movie were never going to give it a fair change to begin with..they are "true believers" that pride themselves by turning their nose up at anything different or anything that doesn't match their preconceived expectations. They would suck the joy out of Christmas because the color of Santa's suit was not just the right shade of red.

I grew up going to monster movies with my older sister. I grew to love every bad monster suit and every horrible plot. Cloverfield is to those early monster movies, as Star Wars was to those early Sci-Fi/Space Movies...a different point of view. No heroes. No scientists discovering all the whos, hows, wheres, and whats about the monster..because there are no answers, but by the end of the movie you have a ton of questions...do I smell sequels?

I suspect the people who don't like the movie don't like the monster....it doesn't fit their preconceived idea of what a "cool" sci-fi monster should look like. For Cloverfield, what the monster looks like really doesn't matter. The movie is driven by the characters and their frantic scramble through debris and destruction. Those characters are pretty shallow with a lot of character flaws...in fact initially you might not like one or two of them. However, it is their humanity and flawed nature that slowly but surely gets you hooked...it dawns on you that this could you...could be your friends. You might think you don't care about them, but you do. However, the opening clues you on the fact that everything happened in the past, and that the cam was recovered in an area "formally" known as Central Park...so you know in the back of your mind that everyone is dead. The movie is about figuring out what happened. But the movie just gives you a very tiny piece of the overall picture. I will probably see it a couple more times to catch the little things I know I missed the first time around.

Keep an open mind when you see Cloverfield. Just enjoy the experience and you will get hooked. It will be the fastest 74 minutes you will ever spend at a theater.

I they take the time and do it right, it can be a great, fun movie to watch. The basic idea of GAH was about learning how to use powers without any idea how they work...the ultimate on-the-job training. If you think about it, Superman and Spiderman went through the same process. So, they need to approach the subject seriously and realistically, but remember to keep Ralph down to earth and just a bit overwhelmed with the entire idea, becsaue that is what generated the comedy. If they don't and go just for the comedy value with a Jim Carrey style farce, it is going to blow..big time.
