Just what the world needs ... Another fable we are all to take as actual history. Too bad 90% of the world cannot tell the difference.

@themoviefanatic I believe this is all cake, the ice cream will be The Hulk, Thor, and Iron Man. I am being patient to this point, but like what I see so far.

I see that I am not the only one catching Renner's line of sight. Can anyone really blame the guy? She is rather easy on the eyes.

@lane1 Lane ... I like your style. I will concede it is an opinion that he needs a shave to sell the super hero persona, however, that is the nature of all reviews. I did offer non-spoiler insight into the film in that it lacked the needed action that would have helped the movie win greater viewership.
I also commented on the CGI being "great". I left out the abysmal direction of the film, the fact that most of the film dealt with a confused Reynolds, and ineffective use of a pivotal character like Sinestro. My point is I did not want to dog-pile on the movie like the other 99% of the people who viewed it. I get the feeling you must have enjoyed the film. It is a decent film, nothing more. The fact that it has only made approximately $90 million domestically in two weeks says a lot for over dissatisfaction for the film by moviegoers. Fire the director, the screen writers, and produce a film that revolves around Hal Jordan going toe-to-toe with Sinestro ... People will love it! |

@lane1 ... Lane ... We are all entitled to our opinions. In my opinion, Reynolds looking like a disheveled frat boy vice a military officer really takes away from the whole Super Hero visage he was trying to project. He is supposed to be Green Lantern not Wolverine.

100-minutes of filler ... barely 10-minutes in the costume. The CGI just did not do it for me. A full view of Welling in the costume would have been perfect.
Those are my complaints, now on to the good stuff. I loved that he finally embraced what he is, put on the costume, and did something only Superman could do to thwart Darkseid. Kudos to the writers for creating the save the world via 'Fly-Only' option. I agree that Welling is a good Superman. He may need to hit the weights, but would look great as Superman on the big screen. |

It is a very good movie ... the 3D is not worth the extra $3 so save your money on watching this version. See it in 2D ... it is well worth it and you will enjoy the movie.

wrote a comment about the news item Christopher Nolan to Produce Batman Reboot After The Dark Knight Rises
Just make good movies! Once a good origin exists, stop changing the origin to fit into a popular mental framework.
I am so tired of the overuse of the word 'reboot' and film studios using this word to justify tossing aside Characters and storylines from good films. Every time I read that word, the image of a petulant child saying 'Mommy/Daddy ... I want a new car, this one is old, we should pretend you never bought me that BMW two-years-ago and spend more of your money on me' comes to mind. Establish a canon vis-a-vis a character's origin, Donner's Superman as an example and build contemporary threads. Superman Returns had a chance if there was a decent villain, think Ra's al Ghul and the Joker from Nolan's Batman movies. While his Batman Begins was a reimaging of a canon of films started by Tim Burton, there was almost ten years between their origin and Nolan's films. The Dark Knight Rises arrives next July and the studio executives are already talking about gutting this franchise. What next, 'reboot' talks before the new 'reboot' even arrives? |

I hope the people at Warner Brothers Studios and DC comics know what they are doing. Snyder HAS NOT produced a film since '300' that doubled its budget in domestic ticket sales. 'Sucker Punch' just dropped a 'steamer on the table' over the weekend. Superman has to be GREAT!
