Fanboyism aside, what none of you seem to realize is that a blu-ray player for the Xbox 360 would be a good thing. Do you really want to shell out money for a digital downloaded movie only to have the file get corrupted or your hard drive crash causing you to lose possibly all of your downloaded movies? I for one would rather have a hard copy of a movie that I can hold in my hands and worst case scenario have to buy a new player then to risk losing a file. Plus do you really think that studios will want to push for digital downloads rather then Blu-ray when by making a movie a computer file would make it one step easier for people to copy a movie? Granted, is a blu-ray player necessary for this generation of video game consoles no. BUT... the only console out right now that is designed as ONLY a video game console is the Wii. The PS3 and Xbox are designed and advertised to be media centers. MEDIA
So really arguing about whether PS3 or Xbox 360 is better really is a something that belongs in another discussion.
