@jasonkat agreed 100%
This is such a bonehead move by Paramount, honestly if the film turns out to be pretty good I think it could've gotten $200+ million this summer (domestically), now that it's being delayed to March of next year I honestly think it'll make less. There are exceptions in March but considering this will be going up against The Host I don't think this will be pulling as big of numbers as it could

This has to be a joke. It's only a month before release, the advertising has been all over the place, all the trailers are out, there's no possible reason to do this, the 3D isn't going to get you anything!!! Screw 3D, it's an unnecessary add-on that has only really worked with one live action film and that's Avatar and it was designed for it, this has NO NEED FOR 3D!

@felipe-11 O yeah, I know those aren't theatrical posters, they're just some posters you buy in the store
posters are nothing special, looks like these are for kids which honestly let's face it, this is not a kids movie, market it for your target audience

@ejk1 I agree with you man, this Avengers vs TDKR argument is ridiculous. Can't we just enjoy both movies rather than argue about which is better? A few have seen The Avengers but no one has seen TDKR yet and yet they're comparing them and saying Avengers is better, how could we possibly know that yet?

To everyone: Let's just enjoy the summer, there are going to be some great films out this year

@diaigma good to see you back on here old friend, been a while

@c-a-r-t-m-a-n The Avengers has made $218 million as of today not $500 million. The article says it's anticipating $500 million by the end of this week meaning after it's released in the US, it's going to do some good numbers for sure noone is doubting that, should possibly cross the billion mark, but the comparison between TDKR and The Avengers is stupid. Avengers is a more fun action filled popcorn film while TDKR is much darker and smarter, I'm not dissing The Avengers by any means, I am super excited to see it tomorrow night but numbers wise the two should both cross the billion mark but in the end I see TDKR taking home the crown. Reason being, TDK made a billion 4 years ago, the global market has grown alot since then, it didn't even pull in $500 million internationally, but Incption came out and did over $600 million just 2 years later after the market grew, and since TDKR is the final chapter to Nolan's batman trilogy you can expect more people to go and see how it all ends, look at Deathly Hallows Part 2. In the end I don't care which makes the most money, I care about seeing a good movie and I know I'll enjoy both TDKR and The Avengers immensely.

"We Have A Battleship"
Did anyone notice that it says Thursday May 2 when it will be online? Thursday is the 3rd. LOL Not important I know, just saying. Anyway WOW this is something, I knew Avengers was going to get the goods when it came to trailers but dang. I'd project $140-$170 million it's opening weekend, it's definitely big enough to take out Harry Potter I think, it will all depend on word of mouth and so far it's been great so I expect multiple viewings opening weekend.
I'm one of the biggest Christopher Nolan fans on the planet, I kid you not and I agree with almost everything he says here. The whole 3D argument, I agree to an extent, because there are FEW films where 3D really plays a part in the immersion of the film just as IMAX did with The Dark Knight. I'm not saying he's wrong but I think the few 3D films out there that are genuine deserve to be better recognized. I myself prefer 2D films and Nolan's style by pushing the bar to shoot on film and with IMAX. In Nolan We Trust. Can't wait for July 20th a date which will live in infamy!!!
