My first thought also was that it should be set in a country like Nigeria or Uganda because that stuff actually happens there.

Oh, so you think an African setting would be better also. Do you think it being set in America could work, and it would be metaphor I guess for the children soldiers in Africa, or I should just set it in Africa. Also do you think the movie would be a lot like Blood diamond if I did set it in Africa?
Aside from being pretty implausible, it's ok. I'm not sure what the point you're trying to make is, but I'm intrigued enough to see where you go with this. So keep at it.

Thanks, you're right when you say its implausible. Do you have any other ideas of why, America would turn into an almost lawless society with little government control. I was thinking maybe nuclear war, damaged organized society, and people form gangs? Would that make it more interesting/plausible? Do you have an ideas that could improve it?

I agree it is a lot like Africa, that's where I basically got my idea from. One reason It would be set in America is because I could develop characters easier since Im American. Another is it would make the movie more original. Did you think it was an interesting concept though?
Title:
Thugs

Setting: Miami, around suburbs and in the city.

Plot:
The movie is based in a near future, governmentally unstable America. Not really clear to the audience, but the people are fed up with the new more authoritarian government. Revolts/protests spread like wildfire throughout the country. The government trying to repress the riots just increases the violence. Soon enough the government has been shattered and barely active. In a new pretty much lawless country, many gangs form all around the country, but the movie concentrates on Miami. Many different ethnic groups form gangs in order to protect each other. There are lots of gang wars over territory. There is still some form of government, but it is very unorganized, and it is clear they lost control. In order to grow bigger, some gangs even break into houses and steal young boys, who they brainwash/train to become future gang foot soldiers. The movie is revolved around two brothers (Older brother, Alex, and younger brother, Bradley) who are kidnapped with a group of many other kids and brainwashed (not science fictiony, but by real brainwashing techniques) by the gang to be one of them. At first the brainwashing is effective and all the boys become consumed with the gang. As they grow older they become even crazier and run buckwild throughout the city, consume many drugs and alcohol, and fight the gang wars. One day, Alex is on a gang mission that goes wrong, and is caught by the few police left and sent to jail. Without a trial, Alex is sent to the extremely rough, overcrowded jail, where the government throws everyone they can. In jail Alex, still pretty young, meets a prison guard that looks after him in the rough prison environment. At first skeptical of the guard, Alex eventually begins to like him. The prison guard preaches and enlightens Alex about his gang life ways and convinces him to stop. During a massive prison break, Alex escapes and makes it his mission to get his little brother and himself away from the gang. It isn't easy for Alex to convince his brainwashed brother to leave with him, or to get away from the gang members who will come after him. So he comes up with a plan to get away from it all.

Note:
I know this is somewhat unorganized, but it was sort of a stream of consciousness. I didn't really come up with an ending, so that why I just said he comes up with a plan. I have a few ideas though
