@dan1 It happens all the time. Hal Jordan, Barry Allen, hell, Blackest Night brought 12 people back in one fell swoop. I'll say Johnny is dead, but ASM 655 brought up a great point: only the regular people stay dead.
Certainly believed to be dead, and according to Hickman Storm is definitely dead. However, Hickman won't always be writing FF. For instance, this past year saw the return of Kraven the Hunter after being dead for 23 years. New writers brought him back from the dead, so who's to say that Hickman's successors won't do the same thing with Johnny?
@ejk1 Hmmm... but he is explicitly mentioned as dying, right? This is something all the other characters believe to certainly have happened? Or did the writer leave a bit of ambiguity? I guess they did, since they show just the shirt.

@dan1 My reason for thinking Johnny may still be alive is simple. In 588, there was no body, just a shirt. In my experience with fictitious works, no body means no death.
@ejk1 I thought so. Thanks for the confirmation on the artist. The likelihood of me picking up those issues is small at the time since I got lots of other financial things going on, so you can tell me/us what happened in that issue if you want.

While I don't wish to give anything away, my thoughts that Johnny may not be dead are based upon one moment in #588. I'll tell you if you want, but you may want to get the issue for yourselves. It is fairly obvious that the door was left open. Whether or not Johnny ever walks through is unknown.
The writer of FF will continue to be jonathan Hickman, and you are right Supes, Marko Djurdjevic designed the new team.

@ejk1 True, just because one writer/artist makes the claim and is resilient in it, doesn't mean the people who take over eventually will follow suit.
