@dan1 Excellent review, man. One of your best. Great humor, structure, just an all-around awesome read. This wasn't the epic I was expecting, but I still enjoyed it. Expect my review up by the end of the night :)

Not gonna happen. This has to be a rumor. A Step-Up TV series? It would never happen. Rumor, no doubt.

Poor Kitsch. I feel bad for the guy. I hope Savages does well for him. I don't his career to plummet because of these two flops.
Wouldn't the chemistry between The Rock and Bruce Willis have been enough? I swear if they take out any of Willis' scenes to add Tatum I'll be pissed.

Now for the rest of our lives we're left to wonder: What would the original version have been like? Better...worse? It's gonna kill me wondering the differences!!!
@bawnian-dexeus Yep, it'll be an exciting one too.
In all honesty they should have kept it at June 29th. GI Joe would have most likely took the weekend (unless People Like Us drew in a lot couples). TASM coming out on a Tuesday is a little awkward. They should have waited for July 6th, that way there G.I. Joe could have a week to make good enough cash for it not to be a MAJOR flop. Oh well, July 3 is my birthday so TASM coming out that day is nothing to complain about haha
@dan1 You're right. I want the movie to just release now too. It looked ready to go and actually pretty awesome. I like Tatum though, especially after 21 Jump Street, so it would've been upsetting to see the main character from the first film killed off. I guess I look at this in a good light and bad.
"Also Channing Tatum had a breakout spring, starring in The Vow and 21 Jump Street. In our first screening of the film the reaction from audiences was good but with 2 big concerns: 1) They didn't like the fact that Channing and The Rock really didn't have any time to develop a friendship before Channing died, and 2) Why wasn't it going to be in 3D? We went back and shot another week with Channing to develop more of his story with The Rock, which made the film play much better. But we didn't have the time to be in 3D. Then a week ago Battleship basically had the same performance as John Carter - $60M-$70M U.S. and just over $200M international. That was just a wake-up call that said to us we need to offer the best version of the film irrespective of summer market share to ensure the best possible performance. And not being in 3D will cost us a ton of business internationally."

They are worried that GI JOE 2 will be another flop. Makes sense. It would be standing next to Spidey. If they think keeping Tatum and developing a relationship between him and The Rock will make a better movie, so be it. I want what they think is the better movie for us.

But, they do realize releasing this in March they will be pulling the same mistake JOHN CARTER did?
