I get it. You're turning a blind-eye to an issue just because you want to pretend everything is dandy. Thanks and thanks for the immature replies since you're taking advantage of the internet to act immature.
If you can't see these characters are meant to be Asian and Inuit with both how they appear and the culture that surrounds them, then something is wrong.
Also, please, would you seriously be sitting here now making fun of someone who was angry over a Lord of the Rings movie that had an all Asian cast, but kept the European culture?

"That's called THEFT, my friend. Two wrongs don't make a right. If you are boycotting the film, than you should have no reason (or interest) in watching TLA AT ALL. On DVD, online, at your friends house, via satellite, HDTV, PERIOD!"
I understand how you feel about this and I knew someone was going to point this out. I myself do not plan on seeing this movie at all. I am not going to go online to see it and don't plan on sneaking in to see it, I honestly could care less about this movie after seeing what Paramount has done to it. Anyway, many people are curious to see this movie even though they KNOW the casting is completely disrespectful to the source material. I am not going to stop those people from seeing this movie, but I want to let them know that if they're going to see it, they should NOT give Paramount their money. I honestly don't care about this movie being stolen because well, this movie has committed a bigger crime in my mind and that crime is once again pushing aside Asian actors.

"I see corruck didn't reply to my comments because they made perfect sense and completely obliterated his argument. "
Messenger, your argument honestly has been stated many times before and it didn't obliterate anything, so don't get the false sense you have won anything.
Race is not an important part of Kingpin's character. Whether Kingpin is white or black doesn't matter because it doesn't affect his character, just his physical appearance. All Kingpin needs to be is a crime lord who hates Spiderman. Not only that, Spiderman is a vast franchise written by many different people, whereas Avatar isn't yet.
As for a black Cinderella, I agree that looked ridiculous, but come on, Cinderella is a fairy tale that has been told for ages. It isn't a TV series like Avatar.
Race is an important part of the characters of Avatar. Why do you think they have Asian names? Why do you think they live in Asian styled buildings or eat with Asian styled utensils or write in CHINESE characters. They also drawn to look Asian (or Inuit for the Water Tribe's case). Sokka and Katara are easily Inuit appearing in the cartoon, yet they asked two white kids to portray them in the movie. The reason I was not able to reply to your comment sooner is because I have things to do in my life, so yeah, you haven't "obliterated" me or anything.
You don't cast Asians to play the main leads in LOTR. You don't cast a young black boy to play Harry Potter. You shouldn't be casting whites and Indians to play the main leads of Avatar. It's obviously Hollywood racism and many of you are aware of that, but you refuse to do anything about. Just sit back and accept this BS.

One of the best animated cartoons in my opinion, but I wouldn't say it is is the best. Definitely had some flaws, especially around Season 3.

BaggerMcGuirk, I do have better things to worry about in my life and I don't dedicate all my time to fighting against this movie, but just because I have better things to do doesn't mean I'm going to let an injustice go unnoticed.
I honestly want to be respectful, but really, your attitude is rather pathetic Bagger. Nothing is going to change because of people like you who sit there are go "You can't change anything". Like I have stressed repeatedly here, the first step to stopping crap like this is by NOT paying to see this a movie such as this.

Agent VIS, you need to grow up and respect other people's opinions. I have been posting in a respectful manner around here telling you guys about a rather serious issue in the movie's casting, yet you apparently feel the need to tell to "shut the f*ck up". Well, it's nothing new, there is always someone like Agent VIS.

The Fallen, I respect your opinion, but I wish people would stop with the "We got to deal with it" attitude. No, we don't. With that attitude, nothing will ever be gained. Like I said before, I KNOW the casting will NOT be changed, I am fully aware that they're going to stick with the actors they have chosen. The thing we need to do now is let Paramount know that we are tired of Asian actors being pushed aside for whites and that do not support what they have done. If you are truly against this cast, then please do NOT pay to see this. Watch it online, sneak into the movies, but do not pay Paramount for what they have done. They are making this movie for money pure and simple and we shouldn't reward them for an extremely stupid action they have pulled.

They really dig deep into this casting controversy and explain it much better than I ever could.

I am a fan of the show, but I am not a die hard fan and I am definitely no spammer/troll so please do not get that idea. I see a lot of you are unaware of the series so I felt the need to show you what's going on with this movie. I do not know who to blame, but I agree, M Night is most likely not responsible for the cast, but that doesn't change what has been done to this movie. And yes, THERE IS SOMETHING YOU CAN DO. Do NOT see this movie. I am fully aware they will not recast this movie, but we can tell Hollywood that we are tired of their racist practices by not rewarding them with our hard earned cash. Why spend 8 bucks for a movie that will possibly suck when you could use it for something more useful? I am sick and tired of Hollywood having the false idea that Asians "don't sell" and we only want white heroes. Avatar's Asian influences were a major draw for me and this cast is really sickening (especially when two dark skinned characters are being played by white actors). I refuse to see this movie because I do not want to endorse Paramount's actions. If you are against this movie's casting, please do NOT see this movie, either that or join our boycott.

Hello everyone, I can see that there are quite alot of people here looking forward to seeing this movie and thinking that it may finally be a good adaption of an amazing TV show. Well, I would like to inform everyone here that so far, it seems this movie is being made just for a quick buck and they don't really give a damn about remaining true to Avatar. Anyone here familiar with the casting controversy that this movie has been dealing with? The characters in the show resided in a world that was both heavily Asian and Inuit influenced and they also were drawn to either look Asian or Inuit, but instead of casting a proper cast that was made up of mostly Asians or Inuits, they gave three of the four main leads to white actors (originally all four main leads were being played by white actors, but the fourth one dropped out). The fourth main lead is now being played by an Indian and that main lead is the "main villain" of this movie. So we got the white heroes saving the world from the dark skinned villains. Also, the Asians who were the original main stars of this series are being pushed to the backdrop.
