No Chad, that was not directed at you, or at anyone else here for that matter. I was just blowing off some steam. I'd love to be seventeen years old again, to do it all over so to bleat ... or would I? Hell, it must be hard to be a teenager growing up in the modern world. So many new pressures from all sides. I guess no one can blame you for escaping into movies, as we all need a good break from reality from time to time.

BTW, I don't know about you, but my DVD shelves are gettin' full again. Soon it will be time to weed out the ones I know I will never watch again. I mean it's hard to keep your collection at around 100 movies or so, don't you think? Perhaps we're all too escapist these days, watching endless hours of mediocre flicks when we should really be outside soaking up the sun and breathing in the air. And then there's always the prospect of having to buy another big screen TV at over $1000.00 a pop! Where does it all end? Back at the video store where they give you chump change for your well-maintained DVDs?

Thanx for the moral support AV. Some people can't handle different points of view obviously, especially the adolescent-adult types who think everyone has to think their way or it's the information highway.

Talking about foreign horror flicks, "Sean of the Dead" did a pretty good job of satirizing American zombie flicks, don't you think? Or are we all supposed to think the same; you know, at the level of an America seventeen-year-old male who hasn't gone out on a date with a real live girl yet? ;-)

Foreign movies are a breath of fresh air in a stagnant North American film industry too preoccupied with comic book heroes and brutality.

I beg to differ mon amigo, as many American films suck major ass too. Their plots are too predictable, with an over-emphasis on violence. It's like you're all lost in some Roman wilderness of pain where all the overgrown children are insane.

I love girls on film, PERIOD. The plot always thickens when a good looking babe walks into a scene. Her lips move, but I can't hear a word she's sayin'. And does it really matter? Beautiful women make the celluloid world go 'round and 'round. So yeah, a "Woo Hoo" bar for Kate Winslet! Kiss me Kate, and thank you Elliot! Good awards show too!

You guys can cry all you want to about Slumdog Millionaire, it won't change a thing. Most American movies have become too violence-oriented and that's why foreign movies are starting to prick the interest of a wayward American audience. All of a sudden Americans are beginning to realize they're not the center of the universe, that there are other cultures just as valid as theirs beyond their polluted shores. And that's a good thing, no? Why of course it is!

Glad to see Sean Penn finally got an Oscar, as he's one of the best actors in Hollywood. He's a bit abrasive, sure; in fact, you might even call him a little tempermental, but then we all have our dark sides, just like a certain Mr. Ledger who let it all hang out.
